Calico
Load of tripe! A prime example as to how deluded some people in this country really are.
zequist
With that kind of a sense of entitlement, that guy could be a Juventus fan. Seriously, if a team's not good enough to qualify for a tournament straight up - if a team's not good enough to hold Croatia to a draw, in their own building, when they have all to play for and the opponent doesn't - then why should they be handed a spot anyway just because of the name on the front of their shirt? This is an athletic competition, it's not the UN Security Council! Edited November 27, 2007 by JD in DC
Maghull70
What a load of Rubbish. England proved themselves NOT WORTHY of qualifying by finishing 3rd. What makes this "journalist" think that England have a devine right to enter a tournament? (I bet he supports the RedShite). Afterall England have only ever won 1 trophy, 41 years ago!!! (and even then we had home advantage).
rsmt
I paid £40 hard earned pounds to go to the game last Wednesday and have never seen such an abysmal display of football. We were totally outclassed, do not deserve anything out of this and look like really bad losers with articles like that...

This is an athletic competition, it's not the UN Security Council! Spot on!Perhaps not enough attention was given to the fact that Croatia really hadn't got much to play for, and we still couldn't muster enough passion to do the job! Saying that Croatia did have something to play for didn't they!.....PRIDE! Remember that little word England?........NO!....Didn't think so! TrueBlue
Croatia had a lot to play for...themselves. Wonder how many of them saw that game to show clubs that they are good enough to play in the Premier League so tried that little bit harder to impress.
