lilpyrokid951
It's being rumoured that Everton are in talks with Barcelona. A lot of people are speculating that it will be talks for a deal for Santiago Ezquerro, but there are some rumours flying around that the talks may be for Eidur Gudjohnsen. Zed
That would be intersting if true, seems to fit the profile of the sort of striker we need
aaron
It will be Santiago Ezquerro if anyone, were meant to be intrested according to SSN

J*A*C*K*E*L*Z
me too, wages might be a concern though. yes i thought exactly that otherwise he would be possibly a better option to yakubu imo
SimonButtle
he'd be the best choice out of any of the strikers we've been linked with, better than nugent, smith and yakubu imo.

Agree 100% - he's different class to those 3. Saw today though that he is going to West Ham rumoured Jason
jofanon
And for £8m which is a much better deal than the Yak. They are talking about £80k a week though which is WAY too much if true.

lilpyrokid951
Reports today that Eidur has rejected West Ham as does not want to leave his luxury life at Barca. he was quoted earlier in the summer saying that he would love to move back to the premiership after failing to break into the first team at barca
Jay Bernard
I agree that Gudjohnson would be a superb coup but wages will be a problem. I could easily see him being the top wage earner in our squad if he signed. Ezquerro is a player i have only heard a little of but hey if he plays for barca am intrested. A Barca reject is still going to be a top player. I personally think its Ronaldinho we are in talks with
Luq101
Ezquerro is on a free, so would well worth a punt. Vogel as well for half a mill would also help the squad out. We need bodies in fast, and if Yakubu and Fernendes won't come, these two will do.

I totaly disagree there, if those dont come then we should look else where with the money we was going to spend on those and bring in class players, not free transfers / loose change. We have money now, so lets use it on someone who will replace a first teamer, not a squad player. Althought i am not saying i would not want these players at the club, ofcourse i would, but what i am saying is i would not be happy if we sign those in replace of yak and manny. Adam
One thing I can't understand and will post it in here as don;t want to open another topic. But DM said the other day when on about money that if there is money there he is certainly going to spend it but has DM not always said he won't spend for the sake of it and only buy if will add to the squad?? Is there now a sudden chance of tatical plan???
zequist
Gudjohnsen has been encouraged to seek a transfer: http://soccernet.espn.go.com/news/story?id...018&cc=5901

Where is proof that we got cash then? If so, then our tactical moves are at snails pace in the transfer market!
aaron
Proof? Well we are bidding £10mil for one player and god knows how much we will have to pay for fernandes with MSI involved, i think thats proof enough.

Jay Bernard
I too would much rather see Neville at right back but come on people this is a topic about Barca players not our tactics. There is another topic for that you know
Romey 1878
Moyes said Neville is a great midfielder, do you believe that also? That is his personal opinion. In the case of money to spend he knows what he does and doesn't have.

No, whats the point in these two will do, we need quality players in and the right players, Vogel may want 50k a week and imo were defo not signing him now anyway. Blue4Ever
^^ agree but a better right back Dont agree with that, Neville is terrible rightback, he done alright in midfield against Wigan I will say but thats against poor opposition.
