jamiemaher85
I couldn't stand that at first but i've slowly warmed to it. Its not that bad for an american sit-com, still prefer darker english ones though. Edited February 12, 2008 by jamiemaher85
jacko 1990
It used to be on after Hollyoaks on E4 so i never changed to chanel and it has grown on me and i think its pretty good even thou they don't show it no more.
CraccerC
garth marenghi's darkplace is quality... i loved the boosh, but i hated how popular it's become, the latest series is shite, hate bandwagon jumpers
jamiemaher85
Yeah series three of the boosh was really poor, Darkplace is painfully funny though. Probably the best sit com since partiridge.
jacko 1990
i Caught an episode of that Seinfield on Ftn/Virgin1 Thought it was rather Poor.
jamiemaher85
You need to get to know the show and the characters. and it the show did so much for how sitcom's where written and viewed. Its one of the most important sitcoms ever to be made.
jacko 1990
So im probs best off Watching Series 1 1st. Basically its like Friends have to know the ppl to understand the jokes. Edited February 12, 2008 by jacko1990
jamiemaher85
Yeah, it really builds up and there are certain jokes that unless you've been watching it for awhile you just simply wouldn't get. Also if you've watched Curb Your Enthusiasm or just know about Larry David then its funny becasue the character of George is based on him. The show orginated from Jerry Seinfeld and Larry David just hanging out and the idea for the show was based on there conversations.
MikeO
Basically its like Friends ...only it's funny so not exactly like Friends. In fact not like Friends at all.
jacko 1990
Friends is funi......but its not a sitcom thats based on comedy like that Seinfield seems to be. And jamie said that you have to get to know the Characters to understand their jokes....same as friends
MikeO
You miss my point. It is, in a nutshell... Friends is bollocks. Not funny at all. Seinfeld is funny. Big difference. That's all .
jacko 1990
Opinions mike, Opinions. Im quite aware that most ppl on here find seinfield alot funny than friends.

CraccerC
friends isn't funny.... seinfeld is written by a comical genius, widely regarded as the best sitcom writer of all time (more so in the states as it wasn't shown too much here) Edited February 12, 2008 by CraccerC
jacko 1990
Then May you both get Toothache!! and have to watch friends aswell!!
MikeO
Then May you both get Toothache!! and have to watch friends aswell!! Toothache is extremely painful but temporary. Friends will never go away . Moving on anyone seen "Never Better" BBC's....new, intelligent, black comedy featuring some of Britain's brightest comic talent including Stephen Mangan (Green Wing) as Keith and Kate Ashfield (Shaun Of The Dead) as his long-suffering wife, Anita. If you haven't, don't bother, it's almost as unfunny as Friends . Complete shite. Edited February 13, 2008 by MikeO
Ian
Yeah i seen the one the other week when his phone is left in the coffin. You could see it coming a mile off, its not very funny, the odd bit makes me laugh though. The fella from the green wings character is too annoying.
