Lowensda
I imagine you're ahead of me here, but the director's just done four podcasts with Kevin Smith if you're interested (only three are out, so far). It's also rumoured that that Fox Studios removed three action scenes, edited scenes to their own taste and replaced the final battle scene. Apparently, Trank's vision was very different to what was released. http://smodcast.com/episodes/josh-trank-in-the-fat-cave/ http://smodcast.com/episodes/josh-trank-too/ http://smodcast.com/episodes/josh-trank-part-3/ I mean, why? Why do they do that.
Romey 1878
I mean, why? Why do they do that. Doesn't make any sense does it? Why hire a director because you think he can do the job and then destroy what he's made because you think you can do it better?! Sony did the same with The Amazing Spider-Man 2. Louis
I watched The Player (1992) last night. I thought it was terrific. Tim Robbins is a hollywood movie executive who receives threatening postcards from a writer whose pitch he had rejected a year earlier. It was a satirical take on the film industry. It was really, really, amusing and I'm surprised I had never seen it before. The guy who played Fisk in the recent Daredevil was one of the failed writers. One of the side stories is Richard E. Grant's character wanting to make a film with no big names, just talent from the English theatres, and a sad ending and the studio agree to take his film on. Anyway, his film ends with Peter Falk watching on as Julia Roberts is rescued by Bruce Willis having shotgunned through a glass window so he could he rescue her from a gas chamber.
