Matt
I'm just gonna call him Timi because I know I'll fail at his surname repeatedly and, as much as it pains me to not wind Mark up for the duration of his time here, I'm too lazy. Cornish Steve
He's just the kind of player we need. Add Bove, and our midfield will be transformed. I must have written over 20 times here: Games are won and lost in midfield. The more I think on this, we should keep Onana. He, too, is young and talented. Onana's "problem" has been ambition: wanting to play for a top club. He's quite capable of that, but this is just the type of player we need to break that top clique: someone, like Branthwaite, the top clubs want. With a new and ambitious owner, I predict Onana's attitude will be transformed. Indeed, every one of our players should be someone the rich teams covet. Looking back at last season, I'm more concerned about Doucoure and Garner than I am about Onana. (Yes, upon consideration, I've changed my mind a bit on this topic.) Never heard of the lad or seen him play so I can't say "he's what we need" without it being rose tinted glasses. I think what we need is Declan rice and Jude Bellingham but that's just me. I do like that top that was one of my first thoughts when watching his interview, if you could buy that in adult sizes without the Stake on you could get away with wearing that on most golf courses and I would. FairWooney Posted Tuesday at 11:34 Report Share Posted Tuesday at 11:34 Poor lad having to pull out some generic answers when I'm sure the way it went was something like Agent: "hey Tim, Villa have accepted a bid from Everton and would like you to leave by the end of the month" Tim: "do i get a say in this, I was thinking of playing some Champions League football for a top 4 club next year" Agent: "Just get over to Everton and tell them how excited you are to play Dyche ball and play in a new stadium" I've never heard of him so have no opinion on him! A quick look at a video suggests he's a good tackler, no where near as tall as Onana but quite leggy tackles like Onana does. Seemed decent passer too. he's got good England youth experience so must be well thought of. Be interesting to see how close he's considered to getting game time or whether he'll be loaned out like Villa did last season. I guess that would depend on if Onana stays and if we replace Onana if he leaves.

I look forward to it.
AnotherYank Posted Wednesday at 22:27 Report Share Posted Wednesday at 22:27 He seems to have some ability to beat a man with the ball at his feet. Quick feet, good balance. I'll be interested to see if he can do that against Premier League opposition, because that's not something we've had in our midfield recently.
