RuffRob
well fuck me, i didn't see this one coming. Maybe the win that secures our Premier League survival and finishes off the Shite's title winning hopes. The best I have felt all season, maybe the best I have felt for a few seasons. Shukes
Clean sheet made it so much sweeter. Nice to see them still trying to complain at the end. You’ve just lost the title at Goodison park! See ya Plopp! dunlopp9987

I think we've slipped into the Everton multiverse mate. Back on Planet Earth, year 2024 we've just been dicked by a 98th minute Darwin Nunez penalty. Cornish Steve
Was watching the score during various conference calls - amazing result and, by all accounts, fully deserved! Looking out of my office window right now, I can see a flock of pigs flying overhead while snowballs accumulate in the fire pit. Time to buy a lottery ticket? I shall spend this evening watching the recording I made of the game. Matt

Popular Post Romey 1878
I don't think I've ever felt so calm before and during a derby as I did today. It was so strange. Usually beforehand I'm a mess and just want it over with, but I felt no stress at all during the day. Then during I'm usually on verge of a heart attack but I felt really calm. A lot of that was down to the players because they were brilliant. We were the better side all over the pitch. That's not to say the shite didn't have chances, of course they're going to, but when they did we had our keeper their doing his job perfectly. I'm so proud of every single player tonight because each and every one of them performed to their optimum and gave everything they had to get that win. It wasn't a lucky win, it wasn't handed to us, we went out there and we won that game for ourselves and fucking deserved it. Pickford - What a keeper he is. Made some vital saves and also kept everyone calm when we were under pressure. Godfrey - His drifting infield caused me a bit of worry but on the whole a brilliant performance and that clearance off the toe of a shite player was key to the victory. Tarkowski - Glad to see he'd got rid of the clogs tonight! Absolutely rock solid. Branthwaite - He's some player, isn't he? I loved watching him tonight. So calm and composed and just dealt with everything that was thrown at him impeccably. Nice to see him get another goal too. Mykolenko - I hope his injury isn't too serious (I'd be surprised to see him play on Saturday though) because he was having another solid game until he had to go off. Harrison - I wish he'd have a bit more willingness to take on his man but tonight he was much more like the Harrison that impressed for Leeds. Pressed, helped out defensively, used the ball well. Gana - I honestly don't know where he gets the energy but he was absolutely everywhere, from the first whistle until he was subbed off. I was amazed tbh. My MOTM. Garner - It felt like he didn't actually touch the ball all that often (probably wasn't the case) but he was so disciplined in where he was on the pitch, which was needed while Gana went hunting. McNeil - His deliveries were fucking fantastic tonight. We've let ourselves down in that department in recent weeks but they were so dangerous from him tonight. He put it on a plate for Dom to power home his header. His work rate was right up there as well - just kept going and going and going. Doucoure - He's still not at the level he was before his injury but he's getting there. We still got the misplaced passes but we also got the pure effort and graft that we've come to love. DCL - Our number 9 played like a proper number 9. I thought he bullied the shites CB's all game and gave them a torrid time. He just worked, worked, worked and I'm so pleased that his efforts were rewarded with scoring the goal that sealed the win and could get the adulation from the Gwladys Street End like he deserved. I do enjoy when they show Goal Rush on Saturday mornings here in the states (these would be for the mid-afternoon kickoffs in the UK) where they focus on one match and then bounce around to the other matches if a goal or a key moment happens. The other is WWE but that's only because I had the WWE Network previously and anyone who had that got grandfathered in when it moved to Peacock in March 2021. Jon Champion and Lee Dixon called the match today here in the states, which was only on Peacock streaming rather than USA Network, and which showed Palace-Newcastle instead for some reason. Champion at one did mention that Simon Hooper (who was today's 4th official) would probably enjoy not having to hear Klopp yell at him in his left ear anymore since Klopp had done it so much over the years. We're effectively safe though, according to commentary in the states, we only had a .96% chance of being relegated before the match today. So the only way we get relegated now is if we lose our last 4 matches and Luton win at least 3 of their last 4. Luton are at Wolves in a mid-afternoon kickoff UK time Saturday so we'll know what we need to be secure by then.

StatesideToffee14
In a sign of how long it had been since we had the Merseyside derby at Goodison (some of you probably know this already), the Everton manager that day was David Moyes. Tim Howard was the starting goalkeeper. The Everton goals were scored by Tim Cahill and Mikel Arteta. The starting XI that day (and who they were later subbed off for): Tim Howard Sylvain Distin Phil Jagielka Leighton Baines Phil Neville Mikel Arteta (subbed off in the 74th minute for Jermaine Beckford) Johnny Heitinga (subbed off in the 72nd minute for Tony Hibbert) Tim Cahill Leon Osman (subbed off at half for Diniyar Bilyaletdinov) Seamus Coleman Yakubu Ayegbeni Among players that remained on the bench included: Jose Baxter, Jan Mucha, Shkodran Mustafi, and Magaye Gueye MikeO and Sev

StatesideToffee14
My initial thoughts on today's result: -Going into this one, I would have been satisfied with a draw. If we won, great. But I've gotten used to, in my nearly decade of watching this club, that a draw is probably the best we'd get against the Shite. Was more concerned about us getting the 3 points against Brentford this weekend. Now that we've gotten the win, I've been nothing but overjoyed. -Pickford was absolutely huge for us. I know we get frustrated at his play sometimes but matches like today's shows how he can be one of the best keepers in the league. -I have no idea where the overall performance from this club came today. Especially a mere 9 days after the performance at Stamford Bridge. If we had played at this level for most of the season, we wouldn't have been fighting off relegation like we had been. I hope we can keep it up and that Dyche can keep the team's focus in check as I could see an emotional letdown on Saturday after what we saw today. Cornish Steve
Watching the replay on TV this evening, the difference between the two teams was our defence. They were absolutely awesome, all of them. How many times did Tarkowski clear the ball away? Godfrey made some awesome tackles. Mikolenko had a great game, and such a shame he had to be subbed off. Branthwaite had another wonderful game. Of course, DC-L grabs the headlines, but our defence won that game.
