Shukes
Very honest comments on his season. Maybe he still has something to do in the premier league yet.

I'm a sentimental sod and I'd love to see a player work his way to his boyhood club and succeed. He didn't look amazing last season but considering the shitshow around the club, inconsistencies in the squad, not getting a proper run of games... You never know, it might just be a matter of minutes. Shukes and StevO
Cornish Steve
Personally, I’ve consistently believed he’s simply needed more time. The Premier League is very different. Looking back, how many players have simply needed a run of games to build confidence? Beto falls into that category. Zoo 2.0
Even though we're wafer thin on strikers, if we can get anyone near what we paid for Beto I'd take it - Maupay can obviously leave too (for free IMO).
Matt Tiger
Ignoring Beto for a second, it's absolutely maddening that seemingly every transfer article now is forced to speak to book value, amortisation, etc. MikeO

patto
What I don’t understand is surely Beto knows he’s not fitting in he has the chance of playing CL football and at this stage of preseason I would have imagined that Thelwell and Dyche have had a discussion with his agent. he will be a very disappointed player if he’s used from the bench all season. Matt
I thought he did well when he came on, he's quite a force when he's running with the ball, a real battering ram. msloan78 and London Blue
Harv
I think Beto is worth another try, he just needs the confidence a couple of goals would bring. There is the concern of how long the couple of goals take of course. Matt and StevO

I agree, I meant Kean 2.0 in the sense that he's come from Serie A and doesn't look like he's able to cut the mustard in a higher league. I've no doubt that if Beto went to Atalanta as reported, he'd do well.
Romey 1878
Kean was fucking garbage with a total lack of professional thrown in for good measure. He had absolutely no positives at all. Matt

I'm still of the opinion that he needs a run of games in which to build confidence. It's not easy for continental players to succeed immediately in our league. I don’t understand what you are asking exactly mate. Are you saying because it was an Italian team it’s easier than a premier league team? End of the day, he had 10 minutes or so to show anything. What I'm suggesting is that the style of football played in much of continental Europe is quite different from that played in England, which is more physical and played at a faster pace. Beto is from Portugal so may still be more effective playing against continental teams than English teams. That's my point.
