Swarzy
Pretty sure if we were told the amount of time we'd have to play with 10 men, we would have been very happy with 2-2. Onwards and upwards blues!! markjazzbassist and MikeO
dunlopp9987
Being without Bernard, Mina, Gomes and Zouma, I’m pretty satisfied with this result today. Promising times ahead it feels like.
memmaclub2
The ref was such a homer we didn't get any decisions today. It all went their way. Quinn31 and pete0
Peter H
Richarlison not looking too happy with the point after scoring two. I like that in a player. Not unhappy with 1 point away with 1 man sent off. I think all played well apart from a few mistakes here and there. Promising start! Guest
2 major positives we should take from this. We can finally get excited watching us again...and although it looks like a Martinez scoreline, that's really unfair coz I thought we defended excellent once bellend was sent off. Gwlad
Great team effort really. I like the way when a player lost the ball they fought to get it back, something we haven't seen a lot of in recent times.
Matt
Not reading the comments, but... we showed we can defend. Hallelujah, hallelfuckinjah. We also showed how shite our defence can be however. Whomever should’ve been closing that cross down that led to their second needs a slap; I’m not naming names purely because I don’t know who was closest! However, there’s a lot of positives to take from that game
Bailey
Pretty happy with that second half performance, everyone working hard and staying in their shape. The one passenger was mainly Walcott but that being said he was always back in position even if he seemed happy to play on the periphery whilst everyone else was getting stuck in. Holgate was calm and composed when he came on bar that one chance he conceded but Pickford saved him and Keane was much better bar the goal. I imagine that Holgate was probably playing under injections given what we know about his injury and that he wasnt expected to feature and you could almost see Silva on the sidelines giving him a little pep talk before he came on to say we need him. Richarlison was great, probably should have passed on a couple of occasions but you cant knock a lad scoring 2 goals on his debut. The one curious thing about this game is how we were much better going forward without Siggy in the hole. If anything it suggests he was in the way and taking away space for players like Richarlison and Tosun (and Walcott if he showed up) to move into. Before the game I was hoping for at least a point so to keep our momentum up and I think that was certainly achieved today (both the point and momentum). Popular Post Newty82
Really enjoyed that game. Had a bit of everything. Couldn't have asked for more from the players today. Real tough game to start with but then with 10 men...!!! They gave it their all, and yes the usual suspects will be cherry picked at but, for me, they all deserve praise. Pleased to see that our style of play will be a world apart from last season. Look like we will be hungry for the ball and always look to attack while keeping it organised at the back. Looking forward to seeing this style with the new boys settled in and playing. For me, a very positive start to the season. markjazzbassist, nutmegwolf203, Swarzy and 4 others
Guest
I think Richarlson ran more in 75 minutes than our entire team did last season. He was immense. I'm really excited to see him play again.

However, there’s a lot of positives to take from that game Schneiderlin. And Holgate gave him an absolute drubbing over it, which is good to see. Coleman close too but covering the run of the player just behind him. Schneiderlin being told to move further out by Gana who was in position covering the man behind Schneiderlin. Morgan just walking around the edge of the 18 yard box and actually looks behind him at one point despite Gana giving him direction.
Finn balor
I thought richarlson was immense. Ian Wright stated we have ruined the transfer window when we spent that money. I think he will turn out a star. Gutted we didn’t have Bernard, Mina etc but with ten men I’d have took a draw. Teams might suffer at wolves once they find their Rythm. Fuckin ref saying deffo red but doesn’t say fuck all about the free kick being six yards ahead of where it should have been took from
Finn balor
I know it’s the first game but Walcott will be looking over his shoulder. Bernard will slot in there and Gomes will be Morgan replacement

Romey 1878
Happy and sad with that. Happy because I’d have taken a point before the game and especially when we went down to 10 men so early. But sad because I genuinely think we were the better and more dangerous team. If this is what Silva can do with pretty much the team from last season then imagine how good we’ll look when the players he’s chosen slot in? I’m excited and so looking forward to going to the first home game next week. Come on you fucking blues! MikeO
markjazzbassist
Happy with the result, but more happy that when They scored each time we didn’t put our heads down, we just kept at it and worked and got the result. Last season we had no confidence and we already look a lot better. richarlison looked excellent, baines and Coleman were fantastic. nutmegwolf203

Cornish Steve
So frustrated that Schneiderlin still gets to play. This team could really pick up the pace if it wasn't for him, his sideways passing, and his seemingly blasé attitude. nyblue23

chicagoblue
Watching the match now. Never a foul. Jags won the ball. Following through is part of football. How is given for denying obvious goal scoring opportunity is beyond me. Wolves player never had the ball. Ridiculous. pete0
Noticed before the game his red card stats are very high. Think it was 5 in 24 games last season. Given his leniency on their fouls you'd expect a yellow for Jagielka.
