markjazzbassist
Yet another brutal match in the gauntlet that is our start to this season. Luckily it is home and after the international break, so hopefully some players get a little rested up. Optimistically we are home I want a win, realistically if you offered me a draw i'd take it right now. Here's the team I would like to see in a 433: Pickford Holgate Keane Jags Baines Schneiderlin Gana Gylfi Sandro DCL Rooney rubecula
rubecula
team looks ok and we should go hell for leather for a win
Bailey
This will be a big test for us. We are at home, we have to put in a performance.
Hafnia
I'd take a fully committed performance with a team set up like we intend on doing them some damage... no trying to contain them. Then let's see where we are. rubecula
Cornish Steve
If we can't beat Tottenham at home, then we have no right finishing above 7th. This is a real test of our ambition. If we field a defensive line-up, I will be very frustrated. Besic should play to give us some fire. I'd like to see Sandro and DCL playing together upfront. Holgate deserves to keep his spot. The key person, I think, will be Rooney - who needs to be our Napoleon directing the troops on the field.

Elston Gunnn
I'd take a fully committed performance with a team set up like we intend on doing them some damage... no trying to contain them.I, too, agree with this and assume there might be nearly unanimous agreement. But I wonder whether there's any consensus, much less unanimity, on what this actually means specifically. Namely, what (1) "set up" (= formation, right?) and what (2) "team" (= starters, right?) would signal that Koeman "intends on doing them some damage"? I think 5 at the back has to be ditched and that we need to see players in their correct positions. 2. We need to get at them, press high and aggressive whilst injecting pace into our own attacking play. We won't dominate Spurs but we need to go toe to toe with them in terms of chances. Matt
Pickford Holgate Jags Keane Baines Schneiderlin Davies Gana Glyphi Rooney DCL really hope Pickfords injury is more to protect him than a real concern.
Palfy
We need a performance win or lose, if Koeman set's us up as he did against City and Chelsea then he's got addiction problems and he needs a couple of months in the Priory Clinic. We need to take the game to them not just defend and hope we might get a couple opportunities and take one. 433 should be how we set up with the most attacking minded midfielders he can put out bar one holding. Paddock
I don't care how we play as long as we get 3 points. 3 points here and we've come out of this horrendous set of fixtures on a minimum of 7 - which is what I wanted. The performances can start coming after United when we're playing lesser sides so we can try and express ourselves. These first 5 games are all about points- fuck playing well and getting beat in 4 and drawing 1 MikeO

chalkpie
Of course I want the win, but TBH, if we play with pace, spirit, heart, intelligence, commitment, etc and we lose, OK, but at least that means we are on the right track for the future. Right now I feel like we are going nowhere in a 700+ HP Ferrari.....blue of course. Edited August 30, 2017 by chalkpie

If I ever owned a Ferrari (big chance of that happening ) it's the only circumstance under which I'd have a red car, don't know why they even make them in other colours. I saw an orange one yesterday, people with such lack of taste shouldn't be allowed to be rich! To the guillotine with them I say. I partially agree with your first sentence though; I'd prefer a dour dismal unwarranted three points from a lucky 1-0 win but I'd not be too down to lose in the manner you describe. Orange is the color for a Lamborghini or a Lotus, not a Ferrari or an Aston. People don't get that some cars are meant to be conservatively styled and others flamboyantly styled. Did anyone ever see a picture of Balotelli's Camoflauged Bentley?
Paddock
From Tottenham, playing style, winning or playing well to colours of cars. Again- only here could that run as smooth and be the norm. All we need now is a set of puns- Marco to come in fuming and we're back to the Spurs game- carry on.
