Isaiah
Some more strong teams have gone out tonight (Ajax, Brugge, Fenerbahce, Legia Warsaw, PAOK). Really happy we got through this tie, and (it's looking like) without any injuries. . nyblue23, markjazzbassist and Sev
London Blue
I couldn't disagree more. Rooney needs all the time he can manage, and he hasn't ben bad in this game. At 32 3 games in a week is too much. We need him for Chelsea.

Sev
At 32 3 games in a week is too much. We need him for Chelsea. Agreed. But as much as he can manage without getting too tired. A balance that should keep him fit and without injuries hopefully.

Sev
Good result, but there's quite some room for improvement. And some of them are tactical as I see it. xsaint08
Aidan
Sigurdsson has been 28 for 6 month...still only 27!!! Don't remind me of his age! 45m for a 28 year old is ludicrous for Everton!
johnh
Best part of Everton's possession football was the last 10 minutes when we were trying to run the clock down... Missed the first 25 minutes but couldn't believe how often we gave possession away. Rooney one of the biggest offenders. On the few occasions we got the ball out wide in attack, there was no one in the penalty area. We seem to be playing without a striker. We played almost identical to the Man City game, conceding possession and packing defence. xsaint08
Newty82
I think we did what we were sent out to do...get through with minimal fuss and minimum energy expenditure. We took it too far at times, sat too far back, got too complacent but I can understand the reasoning having had a tough game at City, travelling out to Croatia, and now having to go back to London. Wasn't pretty. But job done. The best is still to come for this team. We are pretty much sorted at the back...just need more cohesion going forward. Elston Gunnn
Surprised Koeman didn't use 3d sub. Give Sigurdsson or Rooney or even Baines a little rest. Sunday aft comes too soon.

rubecula
important to remember they got through a tricky tie without going through the gears. We still need to get past Chelsea at the weekend.
Newty82
Exactly. Nobody got injured or over exerted themselves and everyone will be relatively fresh for the Chelsea game. I don't understand why the City game was played on Monday and Chelsea on Sunday. Surely a European away fixture should be followed with a Monday night game. That's how the Germans always do it. Germans haven't sold their soul to Sky TV!

c1982
Said's teammates are really having a go at him as he leaves the pitch. He took the ball for the penalty and, maybe the usual taker, tried to wrestle it off him. The fans were booing him too.
