c1982
Much better use of the players we've got available than last week. We'll be more balanced and more threatening as a result. There's room for improvement before the end of the window but that's the line-up I wanted to see. markjazzbassist

Ghoat
4-4-2 diamond with 4 centerbacks? Nevermind lol. I didn't see the right side of the graphic! But I like it! Edited August 3, 2017 by Ghoat
nyblue23
That's a lineup I can get behind. Curious to see how Davies does. Have a feeling he'll be our spark-plug.

nyblue23
Even though Williams and Jags have both looked shaky over the last year, I think with Keane shoring up the backline I might be happy to see three at the back a little more often this season. Newty82
343 for me Pickford Jags Keane Williams Davies Gana Schneiderlin Baines Sandro Rooney Klaassen I'm a bit traditional in that if there are 5 defenders, then it's a '5' at the back. If we modernise it, it's actually a 3-2-2-1-2.

Agree with both of those premises. Especially in our system with Schneiderlin and Gana fully capable of covering a lot of the defensive duties of our wingbacks, I'd like to think of ours more as the modernized version. But we'll see how it goes in practice today.
Btay
I don't mind this. Having a mobile CM at rwb or lwb who can defend works for me as well. When they push on we should be able to move the ball around efficiently and quickly given all 5 can play quick two touch football.
Palfy
Koeman must have read my post that Schneiderlin and Gana only works in a back three, in front of a back four to defensive.

Sev
Exited to see the influence Pickford has on the defence. I've read that he's not the type that shuts up. And yes, Hafnia. There will be some dirty tricks on that pitch today. Wonder how that ref is...

nyblue23
i disagree i think they will definately park the bus, hope it's a stalemate and then go for broke the last 20 minutes when they have the home crowd and momentum behind them. Right again. Not sure Koeman expected this, either.
Shukes
Sandro's having a bit of difficulty this week. Can't seem to buy a good touch. Was just about to comment how refreshing it is to see a forward being the ball under control. Seems to be a good outlet for us.
