barryj
'extensively scouted by the Blues and other leading European clubs' - another player signed. Allegedly scouted by other top clubs. No idea if he's any good, but what are we doing? It's not even deadline day yet.

Shukes
Watched that video down the link. He does seem to have a bit of pace to get back and tackle, but inexperience shows the ball sailing over his head a lot. Reminds me of Stones. Could be a gem. Bill
Don't think we need teenagers, we need top, well experienced first teamers, we have enough kids of our own.

Bill
I know Williams is only average, but you don't think for one minute he will replace him. Do you.??
Shukes
No no. I agree, we could do with an established mid aged CB.
Shukes
Someone just pointed out that it likely means a replacement for Kenny. He is likely to get more first team squad time. Edited June 19, 2017 by Shukes

Could be wrong but I read nath is a R centre back, Kenny is a full back. Don't think he's replacing him, just one for the future.

Ahh I may be wrong then. Thought he might be coming into the prem2 team to allow Kenny to move up... well hoping really.
StevO
What's us needing first team players got to do with it? The under 23s have their own budget to buy players, have their own scouts, they need players so they got them.

nogs
The last line of my post was ... We have enough kids of our own. If he comes in, who will be replace ? Kenny, Holgate. We don't need him We have one of the top Academies in the country we can produce our own. We've been very proactive signing kids for a number of years now, goes back long before Walsh. Stones, Holgate, Foulks, Galloway - that's just at CB alone. Yes we've produced Pennington and others ourselves, but that's not the point. It's a business model, one of them comes good, we either get a first team player for dirt cheap or rake in a huge profit, e.g. Stones. It's the model the Portuguese and Dutch clubs have used for years. Probably the best legacy Moyes left this club.
