Lowensda
To be fair, that's probably the best outcome. All experienced, all been at Everton a few years now. Even though i'd have liked Rooney, I think for squad morale, that's the best option. markjazzbassist and Matt

Surprised but I agree - all 3 are main-stays of the club during the last 4+ years, seasoned players and great examples of professionalism. Wayne will have to wait for Barry or Jags to leave I guess, though I'm sure he'll have the band at some point this season Edited July 26, 2017 by Matt
Newty82
Good role call of Captains there. Plus we have former captain's of winning teams in Rooney and Klaassen. Some real strong people in this team now.

Quinn31
I'll add one more thing since I've been pretty opinionated on the matter, and that is that it doesn't take a silly armband to stand up and be a leader. Especially for people like Rooney, he will set an example of a winning mentality and any young player in the squad will follow his example and listen to him when he speaks up. Captain or not. And any player who wants to make themself a leader by demonstrating an excellent work ethic, high standards for themself, and a willingness to communicate with their teammates I'm sure will be welcomed, armband or not. Romey 1878
Jags can't be that bad of a leader when three Everton managers have had him as their captain, and he was captain at Sheffield United too.
Shukes
Anyone who has ever been given a captains armband will understand that is by no means meaningless. It's an honour. Romey 1878

He has also had the England armband and was singled out by Capello for being a great talker/ organiser on the pitch
duncanmckenzieismagic
Of the 3 Baines is the only one who is going to be starting games regularly so it's pretty much Jags club captain , Baines team captain
StevO
Or it's pretty clear that Jags is first, Barry second and Baines third, like the boss said. No club captain and team captain nonsense.
