Paddock
He’s the only one so far who is doing his job- the plan was to replace Lukakus goals with multiple players- Klassen, Sandro and Sigguardsun (I can’t ever remember how to spell the fucking thing) have done fuck all in terms of chipping in. I think he try’s a bit too hard sometimes. That's the only thing letting him down - trying too hard. He's trying to be all over the pitch but he aint got the legs for it, or he has, just not for a full 90 minutes. This leads to tiredness which leads to sloppy give aways. And his passing can be really sloppy just as much as it can be really majestic. If he can pace himself, he'll be much more effective. This is a key note for what Koemans plan seemed to be - get players in who can score goals from several positions. In pre season, when we were signing these guys, it wouldn't have been to over the top to expect around 10 goals from each of Rooney, Sandro, Klassen and Sigurdsson based on their previous stints and reputations. It's why I think so much emphasis was put on these players and not as much (as far as we know) on a striker. Hindsight and all that.

Quinn31
It's him or Gylfi as the number 10 for me. Rooney is a disaster up top and Gylfi is a disaster out wide. No room for both in the team. League wise he has 4 in 9 games, a goal every 170.5 minutes. That's a slightly better ratio than Lukaku 15/16, and if Rooney was to play every minute he'd get 20 goals over a season. He won't play every minute so if you go by 4 over 9, he will be good for almost 17 goals. If anything Rooney is trying too hard to get involved. Get the midfield to do their job and Rooney won't have to wonder back to get the ball, which will spare him more energy to go forward, and the manager should put the onus on him to stay in the box to score even more goals than currently expected. He's still got 20 goals in him if played efficiently. Although I'd still be happy with 15+. The midfield need to do more, not Rooney. Take Sigurdssen, for example, he has zero goals in 659 minutes. Same goes for every player behind the strikers. I'll not bother with the maths it's all a big fat zero for the lot of them. Assists wise they don't fair much better either, with the whole midfield (Davies) contributing two assists.

Newty82
He just needs to hold his position and stop trying to do everything. It knackered him out, then his passing goes to shit. He's not quite been the same since his drink drive binge, I'm sure some home pressures are playing a part in that. Bet ya DCL would love to stand in the middle and wait for a chance. The poor lad has to take beatings to get any chance of scoring with the way he's played. Lukaku done what Rooney's doing and got slated... Just saying.

c1982
He didn’t look interested today - lost count of how many times he gave it away in the 1st half. He needs dropping as the tempo rose the moment he left the pitch.
Paddock
Crazy because he was one of the few who gave a fuck for me- he put in some belting tackles and tracked back- he is trying too hard imo but in no way did he look uninterested- to me anyway. pete0
c1982
I thought he was trudging around - he did throw a couple of tackles in but kept doing silly little mistake laced passes - putting us into trouble. He and Baines down the left just slowed everything down on too many occasions. Maybe it was just me but I thought he stunk the place out. I don't think it would have made you a football genius.... a fair few on here have been saying baines had lost his legs for quite some time. Saved you a job.... Paddock
It would help if we had cover at left back- still can’t fathom how Garbutt never got a squad number when we had zero other left backs meaning Baines could have een asked to play 60 plus games this season if we’d of progressed in the Europa etc.
StevO
it would also help both full backs if they had actual wide midfielders in front of them who knew how to play out there and offer some cover. Matt and Romey 1878
