JoeQuince
I don't think there's any conceivable scenario where Everton will pay Rooney what he's on at United. So, assuming Everton want him, we will have to see if Rooney would rather sit on his massive contract at United, continuing to make an absurd amount of money, or actually play football for Everton. If he comes to Everton, that means he cares about playing, which I think can only be good for Everton.
nyblue23
Watching him right now. Not nearly good enough anymore, even with better players than we've got supporting him.
Romey 1878
He's going to be our new number 9 apparently. We're really adding to the great players that have worn that number these days.
aaron
Rooney still statistically had a better season that Barkley.... :I surrender:
captainbeaker
He will want to prove he is still good enough to play for England at the 2018 world cup, so has a lot of incentives to play well which I think he would if we signed him. johnh
Beckham has taken to acting now he has a small but cringe worthy part in the new King Arthur film apparently Current issue of Private Eye has a picture of him in film costume. He's saying 'It's the nearest I'm going to get to a monarch with a sword'.

Romey 1878
...? Really. Where have you seen this? Supposedly the same lad that said Schneiderlin would get the number 2.

Romey 1878
Is it the kid off TEF Mark? No idea, mate. I was looking on NSNO this morning and someone had posted that the same person that had said Schneiderlin would get 2 had now said Rooney would be our number 9 next season. Aidan
Is it the kid off TEF Mark? I had a look before and someone thought to be credible had started a topic saying "Rooney to wear number 9" on Saturday. Hasn't posted since though but I believe he's got a good reputation. Bailey
I was more positive about this earlier in the season but having watched his last few games I was bitterly ďisappointed in him. I know he is the type of player that thrives on games but he was terrible.
StevO
I have no issue with Rooney having 9, at least it will mean something to him. I still think it would all give Wayne a fresh challenge in the game.

Lowensda
For me, then only advantage to this deal is a 'name' signing, which might persuade other players that we can attract names.

Then I watched his last couple games.

Westlo
It's going to be embarrassing and a bit of a disaster. I hope I'm very wrong. You won't be. Swapping Lukaku for Rooney will make us a laughing stock.

aaron
Rooney last night became the first player ever to win: Champions League Europa League League Cup FA Cup Club World Cup Premier League Charity Shield The man is a winner, now with him being out the England squad he will want to prove he deserves to be in there. I for one am happy he's coming home.
Hafnia
Is this happening? He may do a job as a number 10 for a year but the wheels are falling off.
AlbanyNYToffee
Fully on board with this. Statement of intent and nostalgia at the same time. His wages won't suck the life out of the club anymore and RK won't be bullied into playing him if he isn't effective. What he brings behind the scenes will win us a few games this season just by changing the mentality of the team.

London Blue
We need to sign winners and despite his lack of pace and mobility he is a winner. He still has a great footballing brain, passing and creativity. I was against re-signing him but the more I think about it the more about it I believe it would be a good idea for 1 or 2 seasons.
