Paddock
Not sure on this, he is still very young and is playing out his skin at the minute but I'd be wary of spending big bucks on him.
Guest rusty747
Agreed, We could do a lot worse than buy him in January if the price is right.

Finn balor
Please don't remind me about butland.£2.5 mill what a joke. This Pickford would be a big fee 12-15 mill I reckon

EFC-Paul
Many lads I know who follow North End rate him very highly and really wanted to try and tie him down after his loan spell Looks a very good long term option as said it has Butland written all over it imo, lifelong Sunderland fan from what I've read but hopefully he has the sense to jump a sinking ship
Aidan
Was hoping wed be in for him (I posted not long ago on rumours without a link) he looks fantastic in a poor team and prevents so many goals. He's only a nipper too. Would take him but maybe rather in the summer.

markjazzbassist
do we really want another english player to only be ruined by the national team? i'd rather a foreigner, out of the media eye.

c1982
His decision making has been awful today so far. He looks a decent keeper but has a lot to learn.
Bailey
His decision making has been awful today so far. He looks a decent keeper but has a lot to learn. He is still a young lad so it is to be expected. IMO he looks better than Butland did at this stage of his career. I would say though that it is easier being a keeper at a club at the bottom of the table as you have more chances to impress but I think he would still be worth the risk based on what I have seen of him. Romey 1878
He's doing well to look so good with that awful defence in front of him. We did well to not get Kone; he's shite.
Finn balor
His footwork was poor for the second Giroud goal, didn't get it right at all. Kone was horrendous, I think we've dodged a bullet there
Guest rusty747
Lets get him signed in January. He is keeping Liverpool out almost on his own at the moment and is commanding his back four very well indeed.
Palfy
Can't see Sunderland selling till end of season, he is their best chance of staying up, if he went in January the owners wouldn't be seen in Sunderland again for fear of their lives.
Finn balor
I don't think the owners are putting any money in so to sell him for £20 mill could get him the players he needs to keep them up. I could see the shite being in for him but I'd make him a priority signing
Matt
I think they're going to have to sell, parachute payments aren't going to keep them safe at this rate because they'll just freefall if they go down. Better in January when they can charge a premium.
Cornish Steve
We already have a talented young keeper. His name is Robles. Koeman made a huge mistake in signing an aging Dutchman, but I don't see him admitting a mistake. (Sorry for the negative tone, but we should be making better use of the assets we have, not spending a fortune in a position where we already have talent waiting in the wings. Spend where the need is much greater.) Edited November 26, 2016 by Cornish Steve
duncanmckenzieismagic
Robles isn't good enough, we need a top keeper and if we get the chance to bring this lad in we should jump at it
Btay
To be fair to Joel, in the last 3 seasons he's played 21 games and conceded 27 goals ( and we go on about how shit out defence has been )
Finn balor
I think Robles is ok and will turn out a good keeper, Pickford is the future
