duncanmckenzieismagic
Isn't Connolly a CB by trade or am I getting confused? Was he the lad that started at RB against Norwich and then got injured and was replaced by someone else I can't remember!? Yes you are correct
markjazzbassist
I might be getting him confused by Pennington? Who knows! pennington used to be a RB, spent a loan out as RB but then came back and RM said he's a CB i thought. played the last match for us last season as a CB. Pennington is a CB. Always has been. He's just been used at RB at times, in the same way we've done it with Galloway at LB.

He had a year at Coventry - may have played RB. He was their unofficial player of the season but they wouldn't award it to a loanee. He was at Walsall until we recalled him last season but pretty sure he played CB for Walsall. markjazzbassist

I think he impressed most of us too in what was a defensively 'unorganised' (at best) Martinez team towards the end of last season. I hope he can come back and benefit from Koeman's stewardship. But, like you said, he looked good in his few appearances for us. He acquitted himself well.
Bailey
Yes you are correct Thanks Dunc. Regarding Pennington he looks a pure old fashioned style defender, perfect for the lower leagues so no surprise he has done well there. I know he got game time under Martinez however I think he will suit Koeman's style more.

I'd love Trippier (which won't happen as it now seems he's got a future at Spurs) but signing a player like him would be as first choice - it's clear Coleman is still first choice but obviously not available for the foreseeable future. A signing like this may actually give Kenny more chances but still offer us experienced competition naturally in that position from a player Koeman knows well. Romey 1878
Seeing as he's a pretty poor player from what I've seen I hope that he shares RB duties with Kenny, rather than being the first choice due to being the more senior player. Not really a favorite he was a cheap signing to cover for clyne being sold I believe and then did enough to Lee that RB spot.

Lowensda
Southampton mates of mine tell me he is shite. Anybody watching him could tell you he was/is shite. No room for sentiments in some capacity (for Ron) but in other ways (Stek) he can't fuck them off. Don't care if he's on a free if he's not going to add anything. Might as well hire me, i'll play for £5k a week and my agent (the mrs) only wants a 4 bedder.

EFC-Paul
Can't say I've really seen the lad or noticed him tbh Mixed reviews from those who have
AlbanyNYToffee
Mixed reviews are what you get from backup RBs. On a free he could be valuable in the Europa League. Kenny would be better served to go on loan to Champ side so we need cover and this allows Holgate to shift to CB when Coleman returns. markjazzbassist
could just be a lazy journo seeing Cuco is on a free, coleman is injured, koeman used to manage him. if kenny is highly rated and koeman likes him, i'm sure we'll see him and hopefully move holgate back to CB. StevO
We may see more of Kenny, but don't expect to see Holgate at CB in a two, but definitely in a three.
