Lowensda
Besic. Deserved that start after the weekend, just proven his place for a few weeks.
Hafnia
I said Besic at the end of the first half, nothing to change that but a few mentions. Mori is getting better and better, baines was class. Barkley was a mixture one minute wasteful next brilliant, another night he may have scored 3. Osman whilst being rusty is a great player on the ball, Barry as usual was amazing but Besic for me. Robles didn't do much wrong.

JoeQuince
Barry. Though, it could either be him or Besic. Besic did the flashier stuff (that one turn in midfield was so silky). But, Barry edged it for that cross and for a few important defensive stops.

Newty82
Besic. Especially that first half. Felt he faded a bit in the 2nd. He gets everywhere! He's back tackling, forward shooting. His passing is pretty neat. Has some nice touches to offer. A few more games, he'll be even better. He has something to offer this team. Brilliant. Shukes
Beast of Bosnia for me. From his pirouette to his np nonsense tackling and even a few shots. Don't know if anyone noticed but he got onto Toure in the first ten mins and Toure was shit for the rest if the match.
Pearso
Besic. I love the arrogance with which he seems to play, he showed no fear what so ever of the superstars who City had up against him.

They weren't used to copping challenges like his.

JoeQuince
Besic was at fault for their goal, but his energy pushed the whole team. He was, indeed. But, to be fair, that was amazing play by Aguero. Besic was forced to run toward the corner with him.
MikeO
Besic was at fault for their goal, but his energy pushed the whole team. Mirallas lost the ball by dribbling into a cul-de-sac; if he'd not done that the break wouldn't have happened. Bešić would've got my vote after 45mins but Barry over ninety. Beić would've got my vote after 45mins but Barry over ninety. Deep in their half. Could understand if it was in and around our box but it wasn't. In fact just watched it on highlights he chest the ball in front of him into their box. 4 city players around him wasn't much else he could have done Edited January 6, 2016 by MC11

MikeO
Deep in their half. Could understand if it was in and around our box but it wasn't. It was about ten seconds later. Lose the ball cheaply when you've got most of most of your defenders in the penalty area against a team of City's class is just as bad as losing it in defence (when at least you'll have defenders back to cover). Think you need to watch it again. There was another 9 Everton players behind the ball. Wasn't much he could do with it ball come at him at pace chest height. Not even close to being his fault. c1982
Toss up between Besic, Barry and Baines for me. Besic just edged it. Some of his through balls were excellent - when others switch on to them it'll be a very dangerous weapon. He looks the real deal now, a lot more responsible with the ball and excellent tackler. efc1111
mcirony
Barry. Makes us tick and his positioning is just immense. Fair play to Besic though, he was also fantastic. Hopefully he'll be learning from Barry!
adziom
A lot of good performances tonight, but John Stones has taken a bit of flack lately and I thought he didn't put a foot wrong tonight so I voted for him.
MC11
The thing with Barry is he's a slug. Been excellent but he really is too slow.
Romey 1878
It was a straight fight between Barry and Besic for me. I thought they were both outstanding but the cross from Barry for Lukaku to score the winner was absolutely perfect, so he gets my vote. EFC-Paul
Besic edges it over Barry as mentioned above his arrogance (confidence) on the ball is great to see there's a brilliant player in there he needs a run of games Barry as usual made us tick his positional awareness etc is priceless at times Overall not many put a foot wrong tonight we put it to them and the better team won
MC11
hes that slow he covers more ground than any other player in the team and second in the prem I think. He's possibly the slowest player in the premier league. Pace and stamina are two totally different attributes. Not a slight on him just saying. I know Navas is quick but he really did look like Peter Reid against Maradona for their goal
EFC-Paul
I agree he's never been the quickest that Germany goal years ago will always remind me of that but his stamina and positional awareness make up for it for the most part Romey 1878
Cornish Steve
Difficult to tell watching highlights after the game, but it seems to me that Robles was part of the reason our defence held strong. He made some good saves, but he appears to bark instructions to his teammates. I really hope he gets more chances to shine.

He's really taken the cup matches seriously this year and really tried to prove himself. I think he could be first choice if he could get games. efc1111
My vote goes to Barry by a whisker from Besic, who has lit up the last 120 minutes with his energy, confidence and determination, but Barry's control and superb assist nicks my vote tonight. He's having a superb season and hopefully the younger midfielders are watching and learning from him. It was also good to see Baines looking much more like his old self after such a long lay off. Onwards and upwards lads!
