However, as I've said previously Koeman's recent comments suggest there was an attitude problem from Niasse, rather than it being about his ability (or not solely about his ability). It's clear Koeman doesn't rate Niasse, I know I don't, and he told him he wasn't in his plans and then he refused to move on that summer and it looks as though that got up Koeman's nose (it did mine tbh). Which looks to have made him look a bad egg in Koeman's eyes. Maybe Niasse was calling his bluff not thinking Koeman would shut him out if he didn't move, who knows? But from there it seems he got his head down for the U23s and then had a decent spell with Hull, showing Koeman that he's not a knob head. Obviously there's been a spat, but I don't think the situation is anything like the one you want to paint.

Unsworth coming out and praising niasse was quite telling..

Which was to not move on and seemingly be happy not to play football. I'm not surprised Koeman saw his arse.

Palfy
I think Niasse should have been given his chance last season, but Koeman the Man who never gets anything wrong banished him to rot in the reserves, now we hear he is having a change of heart, oh Koeman how brave you are to eat humble pie and do a complete u turn, no mate what an a complete prick you were in the first place. If Niasse does get a chance I'm sure he will take it with open arms and give his all, because I believe he is a genuine hard working player who wants to succeed, but I'm sure it will be bitter sweet for him because he help to save the man who made his life hell. nogs
Makes you wonder about Koeman's man management abilities. Can think of a certain other player he's not exactly been diplomatic about. I hope Niasse plays and bags three, I really do. Rooney should be able to play number 9 til January but is too interested in running around trying to kick the football for everyone else too. We just need a body up there. There's good delivery in the side, someone who can find space in the box should get goals if we just start putting it in there.
Shukes
Well we're not scoring goals and losing heavily. So if he comes into the pitch and doesn't score, and we lose heavily... then he is doing just as well. if he makes any difference at all, then it's an improvement. Again, it's about the team not a bunch of individuals.

Was a quality finish, only Sunderland admittedly but I'm so happy for the lad, really got his head down and worked when written off; love the crowd reaction to him. Aidan
Good mentality from the player. Good goal. Shame about the way he's been treated but let's not get ahead of ourselves he still won't be here next season.

His 'mistreatment' has earnt him cult status... he may not have got the leeway had it worked out differently - the increased support because of the negativity may actually help!!! Romey 1878
Great finish but it'll take more than that for me to change my mind about him. I'll be wanting to see more from his as an actual footballer for that to happen. By the time he came on we weren't really doing much so it was hard to judge if he's still as "raw" in his play. markjazzbassist and Paddock

Don't think we'll see much more than a poacher. Reminds me of Defoe, pegs the defense back making runs, and once he's away just bangs it (doesn't have the finesse to place them). Cracking finish list night though.

Which might be what we need actually given the lack of pace up top. He would keep high-pressing defenses honest.
