MC11
The problem I have is us not getting this done at the end of lasts season. His moral would have been high. Either the club or Martinez are shite hawks for not doing so. Edited January 19, 2015 by MC11
DavisJD
Rumours about of Borussia Dortmund interested in him as well.... Stories to sell papers like most rumours, I can;t see him going anywhere until the end of the season. http://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/evertons-kevin-mirallas-transfer-radar-4995866
Hafnia
I think its quite clear that he is prepared to run his contract down and therefore use his stance as a means of getting a significant pay increase or quite simply be sold in the summer. He holds all the aces. Its like the Pienaar situation all over again. Matt
Louis
http://www.theguardian.com/football/2015/jan/18/roberto-martinez-says-everton-must-satisfy-ambitions-of-kevin-mirallas The influential Mirallas, 27, was approached over a fresh deal earlier this season but has delayed a decision until the summer, when he enters the final 12 months of his current contract. Everton, significantly, have an option to extend it by a further year.

Hafnia
The guy is absolute class! I'm a little bit worried about how you are gonna handle it if he does go. I think scenes reminiscent of the Florence riots when Batistuta was sold to Juve will be happenening. MC will be waging a one man war up at finch farm. Not just the Pienaar situation, it's the same situation that any player can put themselves in if it's what they and their agents choose to do. Happens at every club. Don't like it but there's bugger all that can be done really.
Shukes
We hold the option to extend by a further year? If that is true then we're in a really good spot.

Martinez is that nice of a man that he'll probably not take up that option in order to help Mirallas further his career . Love to have confirmation of what this actually means; if it means we've effectively got him on contract for two and a half years if we want (which obviously we would want) then it certainly puts us in a stronger position. Sure he could still run it down if he chose but if he were to make it clear at the end of the season that he's no going to re-sign we'd still get a good price for him, 'specially if he performs well for the rest of the season. It'd be like losing a pound, finding a penny and as you bent over to pick it up you were kicked in the bollocks.
