Cornish Steve
I don't understand why we couldn't have just done the loan with an option to buy without Olympiakos as a middle man. Because there's a risk that he may not pan out. If that happens, he becomes an Olympiakos player. Monaco were, it seems, not willing to take back someone who may or may not succeed. It's a win-win-win deal. Monaco want rid of a player whose attitude is too big for his boots: Win for them. Everton want the chance to turn him around. One year loan to see whether this happens. If he does well, buy him; if he fails, let him return: Win for us. Olympiakos stand to make a profit if Everton keep him and to get the second chance at turning him around if not: Win for them. He was only on loan at Monaco, he's not their player so wouldn't be going back there. Other than that, you're right.

Romey 1878
So who owned him then? Anderlecht.
Steve_E
I'm guessing he's signed for Olympiakos because third-party ownership is allowed in Greece. His agent Henrotay now probably owns some of his transfer rights, I'm guessing.
Paddock
Anderlecht. Sorry, that was a badly thick question to ask and I already knew the answer to it. Mental block or something.

MikeO
Debut for the U21s today, came off the bench for half an hour and set up Chris Long for our third goal (in a 3-1 win). http://www.evertonfc.com/match/report/1415/southampton-u21-v-everton-u21 Matt

Hafnia
if he can score goals like that he might be ready for next season when he will be 19 yrs old, he has good movement and a good build for a striker, his head went down later when he thought he should have scored a second but he looks promising. good to hear

duncanmckenzieismagic
Surely this will already be tied up someone who can score from outside the box and has good movement. Yeah I should imagine Bobby has big plans for him as a centre half Matt

Matt
I'd be giving him a few bench starts at the moment. He's an unknown quantity which could be exactly what we need.

Sibdane
I think it would be a smart move. He'll only cost half a million, and the sell-on potential is upwards of that amount if he doesn't succeed here.
MikeO
don't be surprised if we have problems with his club. Shouldn't have, Greg O'Keeffe last September... Martinez "...took the decision that he was not willing to spend £300,000 on a player who may go either way in terms of his future. Instead Olympiakos took the gamble, but already knew Henen would only join them if he was given the chance to go and prove himself on Merseyside. Everton have an agreement to buy him for £500,000 at the end of the loan period if he has convinced Martinez he can knuckle down. The Greeks, on their part, make £200,000 profit and Everton have the peace of mind they are spending half a million on a real talent and not a wayward rebel. If not Olympiakos keep him and that becomes their problem." Matt
