Hafnia
Nothing wrong with the tackle. Hope TC is ok There was Matt, raising trail leg to scissor is outlawed.

Hafnia
He won the ball, unfortunate aftermath. It's irrelevant. A scissor tackle means a player that has been tackled has their leg trapped = break.
Matt
He played the ball, not the player. No malice, good tackle, shit fallout.
MikeO
He played the ball, not the player. No malice, good tackle, shit fallout. So if you go in and your front foot plays the ball while a fraction of a second later your second leg smashes a knee/groin that's OK? Hafnia
He played the ball, not the player. No malice, good tackle, shit fallout. Matt it is an outlawed tackle. Without the high sweeping left leg there is nothing to cause injury. c1982
If it's serious, actually regardless of this, I can see a deal for Lennon going through. Lennon/Cleverly give us that protection and balance with their working back on one flank giving the opposite winger e.g. Mirallas/Deulofeu more freedom. Newty82
I hope they don't outlaw The Scissor in ladies football.
ForEverton2
Apart from crosses he made, he looked like a good threat today. Hope he recovers soon.
Romey 1878
Gutted for him, he was probably in line for an England recall. It was a shitty tackle and it wasn't the only one like that from Tottenham players. Rose got Kone with a scissor tackle too, and I thought it'd done his knee again - it took him a little while to look confident in his play again after that tackle. pete0
Been a lack of red cards in our games so far. We're getting no protection from the referees.

Dier knew what he'd done the gobshite. Fuckin ex arsenal tit Niall Quinn trying too hard not to be antispurs making out it was a good tackle. It would have been had he not lifted his left leg and brought it in effectively trapping the lads grounded foot and giving it no room to fall freely. Pissed off I really am. That said I'm pleased for the lad prior to getting injured, he was showing what a good footballer he really is. As I'd stated, SAF decided not to go for Wes Schneiderbased on this lads talents. Oh yeah Danny Rose, Mr hard man. He will get one this season the prick. Edited August 30, 2015 by Hafnia

smeghead1
It's irrelevant. A scissor tackle means a player that has been tackled has their leg trapped = break. It was an illegal tackle according to the rule book, win the ball or not a scissor challenge is deemed a bookable offence as it has a "high possibility of injury for the opposing player". Its a shame he got injured he was changing my opinion of him rapidily hope he's okay and not too seriously injured altho I'm inclined to think he may be out for a while! chicagoblue
No update yet? As a ref in the local leagues here that is at least a yellow, depending on the angle you see it from, winning the ball first is irrelevant if you tackle in a dangerous manner. smeghead1
Not great news but better than I expected altho Baines was out for 2 weeks last season and didn't play for over 2 months! Fingers crossed it's straight forward and there are no complications.

Hafnia
Is it a soft tissue injury. BTW why has nothing been made of Diers needless trailing scissor leg???
Elston Gunnn
12. Lets just say 12 to be sure. Yes, that's CP @ Goodison on Dec. 5. Ten weeks away would make it Villa @ Goodison. Fully fit by Villa, match fit by Palace. Fully match fit by Boxing Day, 15 weeks.
