Deacs
Anyone else care that his shirt number is substantially less than their age? It doesn't seem that long ago I was watching football with my dad as a kid. Then I was watching it with my dad as a teenager and then as adults together in a pub. Now I watch it with my kids ( when my youngest will stop watching Dora)

It doesn't seem that long ago I was watching football with my dad as a kid. Then I was watching it with my dad as a teenager and then as adults together in a pub. Now I watch it with my kids ( when my youngest will stop watching Dora) There are times when I still manage to make it under a shirt number. Watched a youth game a while back in which one player sported the number 99.
Hafnia
Mate was at the game, cleverley looked very good by all accounts, connnor mcaleney was class, and mirallas looked like he wanted to prove something. But he said cleverley looks the right player for our team and the way RM wants to play.

duncanmckenzieismagic
Do you know how he set the team up? Usual 4-2-3-1 formation, Cleverley played defensive midfield with Mo Besic in the second half http://www.liverpoolecho.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/swindon-town-0-4-everton-fc-9637339

Be interesting to see which two start there for the first match of the season. Personally would like to see McCarthy and Cleverly.

Hafnia
Cleverley will prove a lot of people wrong this year. Our speed to transition play will improve so much.

I propose we just refer to him as Tom though, so my head doesn't melt .

Well I'm still waiting for "Heads, shoulders, knees, John Stones" to catch on. Got it going away at Sunderland 2 seasons ago (after a lot of beer) but nothing since!!! "We're on the march with Bobbys army and we all love Tom Cleverley, and he'll really shake them up when he lifts the FA cup cos cleverley is the best we've ever seen!" Something along those lines. Gonna copy write it.

mcirony
You could replace "Valerie" with "Cleverley" from the song of the same name. "Why won't you come on over Cleverley?" Haha. Pretty homo-erotic actually, but I'm cool with that. MikeO

StevO
I've read Cleverley done well, I think he'll be alright anyway, but this was a friendly against Swindon. Don't read too much into it. McAleny played well but don't expect him to start against Watford.
