MC11
No not on Football Manager. If you think Tom Cleverley is a direct replacement "out wide" for Steven Pienaar you're a loaf. He's not a wide player anywhere in football!

He's not a wide player anywhere in football! I don't know if he'll be a good replacement, I think Martinez will see him as one though. MC11
Tbh Martinez needs to quit playing players out of position. Cleverley left mid? Baines centre mid. The mans crazy!

Makis
If you think Tom Cleverley is a direct replacement "out wide" for Steven Pienaar you're a loaf. He's not a wide player anywhere in football! Pienaar isn't really a wide player either. He's more a no 10 type who Moyes made a left midfielder. Cleverley played his best football at Wigan on the left. Matt
Romey 1878
Martinez admitted it was a mistake going after Cleverley, so why would he go for him again?

EFC-Paul
I'd have him here at the right cost/wages but I would rather see him play centrally the trouble is with playing the two deep midfielder's we massively limit our formation and flexibility

seve
this would be an absolute disaster hes not a regular in a poor side at villa he is below average for the premiership not at any price a step backwards.
johnh
The match report on Arsenal v Villa in the Telegraph said '(Villa's) central midfield was a wasteland........and Lambert's decision to start Westwood on the bench backfired. Tom Cleverley was anonymous.' I think that sums up Cleverley's career. Don't even want him as a squad player.

He has been very average for them and hasn't nailed down a regular starting place Part of me remembers how good he was for Wigan and thinks there must be a good player in there somewhere and the fact Roberto has been chasing him so long means he must rate him, but then again he pursued McGeady for a long time as well Matt

Makis
He's been average for Villa because he's average in every department. There's nothing, absolutely nothing, that he excels at. There was an interesting stat a few seasons back (or was it last season, can't remember). It showed how much quicker United's passing was when Cleverley was playing. The difference was so big it couldn't have been a coincidence. I can't find that page any more, unfortunately.
