MikeO
Was it a good goal? (Stuck at work me!) Nobody knows exactly (unless there's someone at Goodison reporting in). Description on the beeb... Ross Barkley receives a slick pass from Bryan Oviedo and brimming with confidence, whips the ball past Julio Cesar from inside the area to give Everton the lead. It's been coming, Cesar had denied Everton twice in the last five minutes. The Blues playing with pomp.

markjazzbassist
2-0 at the half, goals by barkley (assisted by oviedo), and Jelavic. Sounds like Stones and Alcaraz are having another great game at the back.

MikeO
What odds we concede early second half and it goes from being a relaxed stroll to squeeky bum time? It's the Everton way!
markjazzbassist
while we're at halftime, a question for you english folks (I'm american). why was the league cup steveanage and fulham games on television but not FA cup games? wouldn't a TV contract bring more money and clout to the FA cup? Ian C
3pm kick-off agreement isn't it? No football on TV between 3 and 5:15 or whatever.

MikeO
32,000+ attendance is decent.....considering away side have a bigger allocation in the cup and QPR have apparently taken about six. markjazzbassist and Quinn31
Ian C
who made that rule? and why? There's a lot more football than the Premier League in England, it means local clubs don't have to compete with the PL for attendances at 3pm. FA Cup is similar, especially as the attendance can be a big cash-win for smaller clubs when they draw bigger clubs. EDIT: As to why, IIRC it's an agreement between the FA, Football League and Premier League. Edited January 4, 2014 by Ian C

thoward18
Seems that all that was necessary to get Jelavic going was the threat of being deported to West Ham Quinn31
