MC11
IMO that's very risky putting Hibbo left back but looks like he's set on doing it. He's very one footed. Prepared to be proved wrong.
markjazzbassist
Yeah wtf why not play garbutt. RM is supposed to be all about the youth, give the lad a chance, what's the worst that happen? He's actually good I inagine it would go decent. Maybe he's trying to trick big Sam? Paddock
If he plays Hibbert there and Garbutt is fit it speaks volumes as to how much Martinez rates him.
Romey 1878
If that happens then Martinez can actually go and fuck himself with his talk of giving young players a chance. He'll be no better than Moyes in that regard. GoodisonRoad
Bailey
At no point in that interview has Martinez said he will play Hibbert at LB. He has just said he is versatile and can play in that position. I imagine the question Martinez was asked is something along the lines of 'would you play Hibbert at LB' and Martinez has been diplomatic in his answer. It's just shite journalism. I'd be gobsmacked if Hibbert starts left with Garbutt fit.

MikeO
He did a very good job He was iffy first half when they looked dangerous down the right (mind you our whole defence was iffy first half), better second.
c1982
I think he was there to deal with ariel balls today and he did a decent job. Against a less 'direct' team I'd like to think Garbutt would have got the nod as Hibbo's limitations going forward are restricting. That shot though!!! Not his best attempt ever, but probably in the top five . Enjoyed it though.

MC11
He was excellent considering he was thrown in at the deep end. Certainly worth his contract extention.

Keep him around by all means, but not as a player. He acquitted himself nicely in a few of the matches he's featured in. I think he still has the ability to be cover to Seamus, but his fitness is troubling.
Shukes
It's also nice to see the club supporting the most loyal players.

He's spent the last two years injured pretty much! I have no time for sentimentality and that's all it is keeping him around on a playing contract. He's got a year to run on his contract anyway so don't know why you're upset about it, it's not new news . Are you just annoyed at being reminded of it ? Are you just annoyed at being reminded of it ? Yes. Hearing Martinez talking about getting him ready for next season has just annoyed me! Being over 30 should've meant he only got a one year deal anyway. Then again Barry got 3 years and Howard got 5... Fuck, I'm going to lie down! Matt
He could be backup, but like Mark says he's unreliable injury wise. We have too keep him at the club though. A new deal better be a player/coach role
