Sideliner
if you look at my posts on the 4th and 14th of September in this thread you will notice I called this one correctly - good show for the chaps who admit that they have misread this one - we all occasionally do - Martinez works with a plan and so far the plan works
StevO
He's been a great signing. Even on loan I wouldn't mind seeing him take the arm band should Jags not play, such is his influence on our team. Matt
Toffee_in_LA
Some of my Man City friends told me that he is like glue and would keep the midfield together, do all the little thing right, and yet won't receive enough praise. So happy that they were right and that he is receiving love from the media. Matt
Guest
He will be 33 soon but is worth a two year contract after this season definitely. His game is about reading it not pace. Ross,McCarthy and the likes of lundstrem will pick up loads from him Lowensda

Lowensda
With Matt. What he brings to our side is stability. Control. Awareness. Steel. Passing. Vision. Leadership. I actually love him. I never thought I'd say that. What I'm seeing at Everton is 10x the player I thought I saw playing for England years ago. He's fantastic. Guest Nikica
He's been playing very well from what I have seen of you. The Man City fans were right - Toure is obviously the more explosive and superior player but Barry was the guy who held the midfield together while Toure did all the fancy stuff - kinda similar to his partnership with fernandinho now. Barry has been good for a while now and was excellent tonight. Edited December 4, 2013 by Nikica Quinn31

GoodisonRoad
Says a lot that we've only lost one game and that was the game he missed. So happy I've been proven wrong about him.
Toffee_in_LA
The man always seems to be bossing the midfield (along with McCarthy). I'd love to see him in blue for the next couple seasons, just hope he doesn't demand huge wages.

MikeO
Wasn't Lee Carsley another underrated one? A tad before my time here, though. You (understandably) missed Haf's point, the three he mentioned weren't underrated....they were just awful . Carsley was underrated by some, but most Evertonians appreciated his worth. Cheers Mike, yeah I've lived a very independant lifestyle for the past 17 years, me and my wife have had 9 years together (1 married) and this is full on grown up stuff!!! I really don't know how she's gonna cope with 2 babies (me being the other). Must admit can't wait to take in first game with baby, think I will be highly emotional.
