Hafnia
City fans I know like him. Very underrated player, turns the ball over and distributes well. Run all day, just not pacey. This wasn't too far wrong... Edited December 3, 2013 by Hafnia SimonButtle and Matt
Bailey
I dont think he is as bad as people make about but the truth is that he isnt good enough for a club like City or indeed England. He will give us more depth in a weak area and he will be a useful stop gap until we can get in a suitable replacement when we finally have some money to play with. Steve_E
He'll be a solid starter for us this season if we do get him. The BT Sports commentator during the Manchester City-Hull game said he's hearing Barry to Everton is happening as well. A Barry-McCarthy-Barkley midfield with Osman and Gibson on the bench will do for me this season. SimonButtle

JoeQuince
Having Barry clogging things up allows Felli more freedom to run. Osman, being there now, can't be relied upon to break up play. Barry can. This will allow our midfield to flow offensively a little more

pete0
Barry would be rotated with Gibson, surely not a replacement for Felli. Imagine Barry and Gibson in the middle for us, boring
Smodger
Why are we waiting for the last minute to sell felli and get Barry on loan I hope martinez has something up his sleeve cos im worried now

msloan78
Spoke to a City fan earlier and he reckons the Barry deal is pretty much done. Apparently Barry was given the choice of a seasons loan with City paying 40% of his wages or a release with a £1.5m pay off.

Avinalaff
I'll worry about Barry when I see him with an Everton shirt on his back. I never take notice of itk's, as for every one they get right, they get loads wrong.

Louis
Gareth Barry was signed on Sunday on a season-long loan after Manchester City agreed to pick up a large proportion of his £120k a week wage http://www.theguardian.com/football/2013/sep/01/cardiff-city-everton-premier-league
Romey 1878
Barry similar to Gibson in style of play? Slower, older and doesn't have the passing range that Gibson has (IMO). Peter H
Slower, older and doesn't have the passing range that Gibson has (IMO). Slightly unfair. Barry is a good passer of the ball, runs a lot in every game (but not so fast) And yes, he is older.

Louis
I'm beginning to question why we our linked with all of these 30+ year olds. I thought the intention would be to bring down the average age of the team. He has a year left on his contract. Romey 1878
Hafnia
A free transfer or a loan only. I recall a certain Gary Mcallister signing for Liverpool on a free and being a great signing. Age isn't the issue, using transfer money would be.

Romey 1878
I can see it now - 10.59 Fellaini moves to Manchester United, Gareth Barry moves to Everton on a 5 year deal for £3million. :major overreaction alert: Lowensda
