Cornish Steve
Would anyone care to predict the score? I shall go with 3-1 ManU over Wigan.

Dalziel Kane
They'll be no repeat of that shock victory over the other side of Manchester a few weeks back so can only see a United win. Maybe 2 - 0 or 3 - 0, I don't expect Athletic to even register a goal. I miss when the trophy was shared up until the early 1990s, now it has to be settled on the day. Furthermore isn't it named the Community Shield now. They've even changed the damn name of this now, but as before, can't see beyond a comprehensive win for the league champions on this. Zoo
Probably the only time I'll be supporting Wigan. I think it will be a 3-0 United win though.
Louis
It's been the Community Shield for over ten years now, I also still call it the Charity Shield. I can't see Wigan winning, Moyes will want to have a strong opening and will probably start with a strong team.

They played a full strength team too
Sibdane
If Wigan had Martinez, I could see them sneaking away with a 1-0 win. See ManU with a 2-0 victory.
Dalziel Kane
Maybe it's best they changed the name of this in the end as 'charity' means sharing, and as the trophy is no longer shared, they may as well call it "The loser goes home with nothing and we'll just keep playing until we have a clear winner' Shield. Sport trophies should never really be shared between oppositions, but what they did with this was a fair thing to do, in that everyone goes home happy. And they couldn't even let that be. Used to have some interest in this event but have lost significant interest in recent years. When was the last decent charity shield showpiece you can truly remember ? Other than Vinny Samways finest Everton moment in '95, you'd have to go back to Leeds and Liverpool in 1992 for a real memorable event. Peter H
I think Wigan will win it, seen Man U in 3 games this preseason and they have been awful.

pete0
3-2 Wigan. Moyes to bring on a defender at 2-1 up. Coyle to laugh his balls off at the tactically inept move and bring some pacey subs on to win the game.
Matt
Moyes in a red and white tie. Seems really strange...

Dreary to say the least, hoping Wigan can nick a goal now they're getting over the half way line. Everton game on soon though

Dalziel Kane
I would rather look directly into the sun than watch anything of this game, and even then, could never watch anything on ITV, or it's boring / cuntish presenters, but thing is, would favor Wigan Athletic to get the victory, as wouldn't be too impartial on this game. What's this sense in the same clubs winning the same things all the time, let's see something different for a change. It appears it's all a little late as the game would be over by now and appears MUFC have their victory, but it is a rather insignificant trophy to win. Above all else, David Moyes has managed to win something in two months of management at a new club, that he was unable to - in over 11 years with his previous one. Just would have wanted Wigan Athletic to have got the result today that's all.
Zoo
1 game 1 trophy let's all tug over Moyes! I hope the pundits don't bang on about this all season. It was pretty much guaranteed that they would beat Wigan considering the standard of the two teams. I was at the Betis game so didn't see any of the Sheild - did United blow them away? (i.e. - Will they be able to do the same to Swansea?).
