thoward18
MOTM is either John Stones or Tim Howard. Both were vital today. Well done boys. Gutsy effort. Steve_E and Sibdane
Shukes
It takes balls of Stones to do that against Juve.
kurt321
Osman tried his best to lose it for us. Mirallas best player. John Stones looked great. Howard make a couple good saves also.
Toffee_in_LA
MOTM is either John Stones or Tim Howard. Both were vital today. Well done boys. Gutsy effort. Gotta add Mirallas to that. But that chip penalty by Stones just left me speechless. Don't know if the other channels did it, but my channel showed some little girls rooting for Everton going crazy with happiness after Stones' penalty. Similar reaction to mine
Sibdane
Really impressed by Stones. Didn't put a foot wrong and took one of my favorite penalties ever. Bright future with him and Ross in the side.

Avinalaff
I don't think Mirallas was the best player at all. First half he was unproductive. I thought Jags, Howard, Stones had the best games. Steve_E, Peter H and Romey 1878

Popular Post california1865
Hey, I was at the game and though I'm not a bluenose, I thought I'd create an account here and share some pictures I took while at the game. Most were blurry, so I left them out, but I did get a couple that aren't too bad so, here they are. The game was pretty exciting, but Everton really missed a chance to put that game away. Tim Howard was fantastic in between the sticks. The attendance for the game was just over 22,000. Strangest part of the night was that the stadium would play an advert on the giant videoscreen during free kicks (not sure if you couild hear that on the tv) and the whole stadium would boo. During the last advert interruption, the crowd booed as usual, but then Cristiano Ronaldo was on it and the crowd booed even louder. It was pretty funny. Zoo
Great pictures mate ! Whilst I hate players chipping pens it shows that Stones has balls and looks great when it comes off. Edited August 1, 2013 by Zoo
SimonButtle
Anyone who watched the game, how did Fellaini play? he looked a bit lacklustre against Blackburn was he any better against Juve?
Pearso
John Stones you cheeky cunt. What a way to introduce yourself to world football. Still can't believe he did that, made Pirlo look like a goose. Lowensda

msloan78
Without getting to carried away... What a fooking result. From the sounds of things we outplayed the best team in Italy for a fair part of the match. Not too surprised to see Stones given a start, as wasn't it Wigan that were after him along with us. Really pleased for the kid,and looks like we could have a potential gem on our hands. COYB
RuffRob
Just seen the result - not expecting that team line up, that system or a that result, that will be great confidence booster. At very worst we will come 4th in this mini tournament. from what I read we were generally the better team - so a deserved victory. looking forward to watching it after work. Zoo
Don't know who I want us to play. Madrid would be a greater challenge but I'd full expect us to sweep LA Galaxy aside.
flaminfox
Glad that they played here and I had a chance to go Great game, gibbo and felli seemed to have a hard time with the system but overall a great performance. Plenty of Everton support also which was great to see
Romey 1878
It was a great performance but there were periods when we looked very lacklustre and without ideas, and sometimes when we were defending we looked awful. However, we're only midway through the pre-season programme and we're going to have periods like that while our fitness levels improve and we get used to playing a different formation. The pleasing things far outweigh and downsides from this game. Stones looked our best defender and a lot more comfortable than Jagielka and Distin (actually thought Distin was a bit all over the place). Howard had a great game. We did well at winning the ball back. Despite having an invisible first half Mirallas became our biggest threat and showed we'll be dangerous on the break. The most pleasing thing is that we should have had the game finished in the 90 minutes and more than held our own against a top side. It all bodes well if we can straighten out the little kinks. Romey 1878
Stones was my MOTM. He did not look out of place at all, and, like I said, looked our most comfortable defender of the night. Martinez clearly rates him very highly, or he wouldn't start against a side like Juventus, and it looks like he has a very good chance of playing regularly this season. Obviously he's jumped far ahead of Duffy in Martinez's thoughts. Sibdane and Steve_E
