Sibdane
Depends on the venue probably. Terrible marking on that set piece.
Toffee_in_LA
Not all games in the USA are going to be played on a pitch as small as this, are they? It's a baseball stadium (the game in LA will be in a baseball stadium too). Terrible marking there, lucky not to be down a goal.
Steve_E
This English commentator is nuts! Really doesn't rate Baines for some reason. He's a retard. Among the stupid shit I've heard him say today: his solution for Everton competing without the financial means of the top clubs is to give our best players more money. And he said Baines will somehow have to run more as a "wing back". He's going to run high up the pitch in attack either way, so now he'll not have to run back as much, now he only has to run back into midfield as opposed to all the way back. Cornish Steve
Fellaini is crap. He really doesn't seem to display any sense of urgency in friendlies.
Steve_E
The spanish channel I'm watching the game in says that we are playing with 4 in the back. I'm not sure about that. Is it 3 or 5 in the back? We're playing both depending on where the ball is. If it's still in Juve's half it's 3, if the ball is in front of our box it's 5. Cornish Steve
Time for a little Italian play-acting. Sibdane
Toffee_in_LA
Distin's pace/recovery speed at his age still impresses me. We're playing both depending on where the ball is. If it's still in Juve's half it's 3, if the ball is in front of our box it's 5. Cheers, thanks for clarifying. That makes a lot more sense than what the commentators were saying. Sibdane
Fellaini is crap. He really doesn't seem to display any sense of urgency in friendlies. I don't think that at all. He seems composed on the ball to me and is passing well.

He seems to have little knowledge of Everton and its players. He also said Pienaar had pace? I just don't see it.
Sibdane
I'm just so impressed by Coleman every time I see him play now.
Cornish Steve
We're really pushing men forward right now - obviously been told to put on the pressure before half-time.
Peter H
Im liking this 3 at the back setup
Steve_E
Wing play just isn't really possible on a pitch this small. Mirallas just controlled a ball on his chest and turned inside and there were 3 Juve players waiting for him. You just can't stretch the defense this way, which also makes it harder to play through the middle.
Cornish Steve
Geez. These Italians can be dirty players.

Sibdane
Great reactions by Stones. The team is looking great. Hope to see Barkley and Kone come on at half.
Cornish Steve
Very evenly matched. They should have scored one, and we should have scored one. Let's see whether Martinez changes tactics in the second half because of the small pitch.
Toffee_in_LA
A bit nervous, apart from Pienaar, I think Everton has done really well, but we have nothing to show for it.
Steve_E
Decent enough first half against the best team in Italy. Spaces are really tight on this pitch though which makes it easier for the defences.
Avinalaff
Decent performance, but not clinical. Gibson needs to get in the game more, as we seem to be a bit empty in the middle of the park. chicagoblue
chicagoblue
Basically dominating. My stream is poor, but looks like a back 3 with Stones on the right to me. Encouraging signs from pretty much everyone.
