Romey 1878
As he's been working with their youngsters, I wonder if he'll take a similar role with us and Stubbs will move up to first team coach? Stubbsy did well with the U21s last season so maybe he'll be rewarded with the step up to the first team, especially as he was a defender so you'd hope he can add those strengths to Martinez's backroom. Just a thought. Seems like a good shout.

Steve_E
What Lawrence will be doing: http://www.evertonfc.com/news/archive/2013/07/11/lawrence-joins-backroom-teamThe former Trinidad and Tobago international has been appointed as first-team development coach to assist Under-21 manager Alan Stubbs as part of Martinez's new-look coaching team.As well as assisting Stubbs in the coaching and development of the Club's Under-21 side, Lawrence, who also worked under Martinez at Swansea and Wigan, will be involved in ensuring information is filtered down to coaches throughout the Academy set-up.“That’s the way Roberto has always worked,” Lawrence told evertontv when asked about his new role. “He believes that in order to have continuity and to be able to develop players, the players need to be working similarly to the first team and the coach needs to have an idea exactly what the manager is looking for and exactly what the first-team work is like.“I’ll be doing the same role I had at Wigan. I’ll be working around the first team and in terms of the Under-21s - Alan Stubbs is obviously the manager - but I will help Alan in whatever way possible.”

Steve_E
Gary Penrice, Martinez's scout at Wigan has also joined. http://www.express.co.uk/sport/football/420482/Everton-poach-scout-Gary-Penrice-from-Wigan Penrice talks to Michael Calvin in his new book about scouting The Nowhere Men. Apparently he worked as a European scout for Stoke before he worked for Wigan. He proposed Demba Ba to Stoke for £7m, but they were reluctant because of his knees. He eventually signed for West Ham on a pay as you play contract. He also proposed Stoke Steven N'Zonzi for £500k when he was still playing in France, they eventually got him for £3m from Blackburn. They also got beaten too Papiss Cissé by Newcastle. Among the other ones that got away are Fernando Llorente and Javi Martinez. And Laurent Koscielny who was available on a free after his contract at Tours had expired, he eventually signed for Lorient and went to Arsenal a year later. Penrice said: "Timing and good intelligence are the essence of modern scouting. Yohan Cabaye was, according to Penrice, 'never an off-the-radar-sort'. He was the star of a championship-winning team at Lille, and Newcastle merely moved fastest when it emerged he had a bargain buy-out clause of £4.5 million." He has set up "a strategic association" with the Wasserman Media Group, which represented more than 400 players in La Liga, Seria A, Ligue 1, Bundesliga and the Premier League.
