johnh
I read that that's because he's been played as a right winger. No, right midfield. The problem of him playing right back in the Premiership is he is not a good tackler.
johnh
Good we can get him for a quarter of the price we were quoted this summer. His contract is up next summer and he is refusing to extend it.

Sounds a lot like a young Seamus Coleman! Matt
c1982
He's been dropped from the squad today - seems more down to him leaving rather than form. Think we'll definitely be in for him as rb seems an area where Roberto wants to strengthen. I don't think the Brazilian lad will ever be an option, more of take a cheap chance and see if we can sell him on for a bit if we can get him fit. markjazzbassist
He's been on the bench and hasn't been playing, not a good sign for future clubs. Johnh follows Leeds and said that he looked shit this year, it went to his head.
Romey 1878
I'd take him all day long.
johnh
He's had a poor season. Lost his confidence, is lightweight - ducked out of a few tackles recently. His attributes are: decent pace, decent control, good crosser.
Shukes
Went to the Leeds match and spoke to a few fans about him. They said they will be happy for us to take him as he's an average player for them. They don't think he is good enough for the premier. Don't know of that's playing the game or not. Romey 1878
http://www.shoot.co.uk/everton-target-leeds-6m-rated-defender/ Not sure how a CB possibly leaving would mean we'd go after a RB, but I would like us to sign him. markjazzbassist
markjazzbassist
Not sure how a CB possibly leaving would mean we'd go after a RB, but I would like us to sign him. agreed the article is bunk. by all accounts johnh on here has stated he's been off the lineup and bench due to attitdue and playing like shit so either get him for super cheap or find someone better. johnh
Echo says Everton will be bidding approx 8 millions for Byram in January. I think 6 million is nearer the mark. He's a bit like Coleman, not quite as quick. Runs well with the ball and crosses well but is physically weak in the tackle. I don't think he is up to Premiership standard yet. Needs toughening up. Get him in the gym on the weights.

markjazzbassist
Think it is up in the summer but he wouldn't be on a free anyway. Compensation owed will surely be less than 6-8m. Probably be better to hedge our bets if he already comes with attitude issues.
Matt
If that's his attitude, then yes it is. Thats my concern. If he is disrupting the team there who's to say he won't do the same here when he doesn't get a look in because Coleman is playing? I know he's one for the future but if he's already acting up it makes me a bit nervous

I know he's one for the future but if he's already acting up it makes me a bit nervous As Romey said, the offer was for less. And Byram seems to be able to play right mid and attack as well. No idea if he's any good, mind, as I've never seen him play.
Matt
Not really sure how not signing a new contract, after Leeds originally offered him LESS than he's on with his current contract, means he has a bad attitude. They've offered him an extension of his current contract on his current wage since, as I understood things.
Romey 1878
They've offered him an extension of his current contract on his current wage since, as I understood things. So, they've slapped him in the face by offering him less even though they rate him highly, he rejects it and they relent and offer him the same as he's on now and he rejects that too but he has an attitude problem because of that? I'm sorry, but if someone was disrespectful enough to offer me less despite harping on about what a good player I was I'd be pretty pissed off and would tell them to stick whatever they offered in future too. Doesn't mean it's a bad attitude. duncanmckenzieismagic

markjazzbassist
I also hold my hands up. Didn't realize they were more skint than we are!! Lol less wages wow. Makes sense then I guess. Even still his value has decreased due to their juvenile tactics. They have to sell, let's hope bill grinds that price down.
