Matt
I'd assume only their design of it, can they copyright something we used first?they could if they registered it before we did, but like you said only their design...

Could've sworn I heard that LCC had been fighting them on it and they went ahead with it anyway.
pete0
You're right. http://www.liverpoolecho.co.uk/news/liverpool-news/liverpool-fc-wins-fight-keep-3327437 Don't know how I didn't hear more fuss on this. It's disgraceful, how have they managed to win court case for something that's not even theirs. The council and the Echo still use Liver bird trade marks surely their not paying royalties to the brats across the park.

Louis
The stories were a load of nonsense, what LFC wanted copyrighting was the shape of the bird on the badge. Anything else Liver Bird related is okay. It was just the local media sensationalising it. What they have copyrighted is this: http://www.ipo.gov.uk/tmcase/Results/1/UK00002253932
Kohen
Sounds a bit morbid doesn't it. I prefer Laurel Leaves, I don't get those connotations but sorry mate!

Matt
There is a huge problem with that badge / kit, or has everybody overlooked it? :dont know: Can ya guess ? Louis
I like it but something doesn't quite seem right about the tower, it's too close to wreath at the top. The club want the word "Everton" on the badge and Nike want it to be self contained to make it cheaper to manufacture.
Louis
It's being removed from Goodison Park. It seems to me, like a waste of time and money when the club have said the new crest is only going to be in use for 9 months.

Peter H
Because they are hoping that all of this nonsense dies down by then and let the new temporary badge become a permanent one

Lowensda
It has to come off whatever they do with it. It sends terrible mix messages and brand confusion if they didn't. Even if they left it blank or put up a temporary badge, it's better than the confusion of two brand identities. When the new one is designed, I hope it goes to public vote but ultimately, people don't go crazy and pick some wacky stuff. We have to be realistic too and as much as we'd want an embroidered laurel or "nil satis..." embroidered, we're commercially restricted by Nike's new guidelines. Zoo
They will probably leave the vote to season ticket holders only. The reason I'm saying that is if you give the vote to the general 'fans' how many of them would be Liverpool fans in disguise picking the wacky design? I'd be happy for it to be a ST-only vote.
