Romey 1878
I had hoped it'd look better actually on a piece of clothing, but the article shows it on a polo shirt... It looks absolutely shit. I'm very disappointed.
duncanmckenzieismagic
I think it looks cheap and tacky "The new, more modern, cleaner and dynamic design has been created following an extensive consultation process with fans, supporters' groups and branding experts." Seems very odd as most fans I know and on most forums the general consensus seems to be that they hate it http://www.sbnation.com/soccer/2013/5/25/4365238/everton-new-crest-photo Edited May 25, 2013 by duncanmckenzieismagic Bailey and pete0

Like I said earlier, Spurs and the shite got the change spot on. We've gone the amateur route. Matt
StevO
Twitters gone nuts. Even Peter Reid doesn't like it. Comedy Dave (club ambassador for EITC) has gone against it. My Dad says its shit too, so it must be!
Louis
I may be misjudging it, but if people are hand-selected to be on a fan-panel and are asked by the club what they think about the proposed designs, I think they will be reluctant to speak against it as they would want to be on a panel again in the future. Louis
I didn't realise that Koppaberg and Devon Cider Company drinks were that strong. I tweeted it earlier, the guy who designed it works for Everton but also freelances. This is his website: http://www.itsmilk.co.uk/About-MILK I was in two minds whether to make it public knowledge, but as the club named the guy on the official site there's no harm in it. Peter H
I didn't realise that Koppaberg and Devon Cider Company drinks were that strong. There are stronger swedish brands than Kopparberg Absolut for example. Might be the reason behind my view of the new crest.

No chance they will back down on this, IMO. They've been getting complaints since the leaks and still gone with the change. Louis
That awkward moment when you find out that the project has been overseen by two Kopites and a Man City fan. It shouldn't matter but it leaves a sour taste know your own club's design was overseen by a fan of a rival club. Also, this is a screenshot from the video: http://i.imgur.com/S7GzqLt.jpg I can't help but disagree with some of the viewpoints on that page, laurels and shape of the crest in particular.. historic - remove or modernise heritage - remove tradition - modernise/more concise (it's actually wider) historic/tradition - remove. It seems so backward. Although having said that, I do agree with the decision to remove NSNO.

Hafnia
There are clueless individuals at our club. Did they write "badge design" into the job description of the clown who fucked up dan goslings contract? It certainly looks that way. RuffRob
I didn't like it when I first saw it the other week. But seeing it again today, It is already growing on me and I actually quite like it now. It will be interesting to see how it sits on the new shirts that's the real acid test on how it looks. Big white cuffs may distract from it I can see how it's aimed to simplify the branding. It may make it more instantly recognised to none Everton fans or potential overseas fans, which I guess is the real aim. I won't lose to much sleep over it. Louis
My theory: I have a theory but I don't want to keep banging on about it. The club decided what they wanted from the beginning.. http://i.imgur.com/e6sENfO.jpg They decided early on they were getting rid of the Latin text ribbon and the wreaths and also that they wanted to keep the text. From that you know the 'Everton' text was staying in the main shape. That's where it went wrong in my opinion, it's a bad starting point. Then they made several designs based on that, all the designs are very similar. There are some without the shape but they were never going to be used - the point of exercise is to make easier to stitch on to 'apparel'. Other designs: http://i.imgur.com/43IxxJy.jpg http://i.imgur.com/LGoN6iW.jpg http://i.imgur.com/gY7Eoxp.jpg http://i.imgur.com/Me5FujN.jpg I'd guess that when fans said they didn't like the text within the shape it was ignored. Technical reasons: Sky used to remove the text 'Everton' when showing it on tv: Also, if it's all inside the main shape, it'll need less stitching as you say or easier iron on if we're going down that route. Hafnia
Look at the bullshit that's on the website. "They consulted the fans" then you see a picture of a few hand picked nodding dogs looking at a mock up. The club is taking the piss out of the fans, expecting us to swallow that shite. My Mrs can't stand football but identifies the everton badge through my sports gear etc. I showed her the picture of the new badge, her reaction was disbelief "why have they done that? It looks fake, is it a wind up?" Well if that's how the club operate in getting a new badge, don't be surprised if we get a shite manager.
