Romey 1878
that confirmed or..? Just what I've heard. I hope it's not true but I fear it is. Ultra defensive at home against a side who are in a poor run of form, and we're aiming to win all our games to give us a chance of European football... . Steve_E
Still better than Neville in midfield again imo. Bailey

Zoo
Feel sorry for Jan to be honest if the news is true. He's put in some solid performances and shouldn't be dropped...
c1982
A lot are saying 5-3-2 on twitter.
Zoo
Whatever formation we choose we need to attack them. I'm guessing a 5-4-1 with Mirallas/Anichebe supporting Jelly when we go forward.
Bailey
I might actually faint if we dont start in our normal 4-5-1-1 variation!
Avinalaff
Apparently Howard and Jags both straight back in and Heitinga in midfield. Surely not What does that say about our other midfielders?

I'd fancy us vs stoke playing 4-5-1-1... in fact I think we'd give Barca a good game with that system.

c1982
Maybe Moyes has been watching clips of Napoli in champs league!!! 3-4-3 - Jela/Vic/Mirallas our Cavani/Hamosik/Lavezzi!

Zoo
Think the formation is to combat Stoke's long balls. If we stop them we stop Stoke - simple. I'm actually rather optemistic about today.
MikeO
Stones on the bench.....I think Mucha and Oviedo are very unlucky not to be starting....the 'keeper in particular. Zoo
I'm not surprised Howard starts. Typical Moyes logic, I disagree with his selection.
MikeO
Think the formation is to combat Stoke's long balls. If we stop them we stop Stoke - simple. I'm actually rather optemistic about today. Seems to me he's either changing the formation (which is bad) or he's playing Heitinga in midfield (which is just as bad). I hope it's a Moyes masterstroke....but I'm not convinced. On the bright side at least Naismith isn't starting.
GoodisonRoad
Think the formation is to combat Stoke's long balls. If we stop them we stop Stoke - simple. That would be Moyes being tactically aware though and as we know, he isnt really into that sort of thing.
Zoo
Just to let everyone know I'm wearing my Naismith top today. I feel just as out-cast as a Kopite in here. @Mike & GR - Agree.
c1982
If it is 442 it's the lesser of 2 evils jags rb and Coleman rm or jags cb and Johnny cm - not entirely surely which is worse!!! 3-4-3 please!!!
