We need to get players who'll fit into our first eleven that 'll make one our current starters a squad player. Actually strengthen the team. Of course it's possible that this guy's better than Distin or Jagielka, I don't know much about him. Still seems like we could use our money better elsewhere, like get a midfielder that'll allow us to drop Neville. I'm talking about having a squad big enough to enable Moyes to rotate, and or choose players to face certain opposition, instead of having his hands tied. The new guys might be better than current players, and I'm not saying this guy would not get a start, but if we want to compete at the top, we need strength in depth. Steve_E Posted January 30, 2013 Report Share Posted January 30, 2013 Hadn't actually read the articles so didn't realize he's out of contract in the summer and available on the cheap. 0.5-1m for a starter for Athletic Bilbao probably is a decent deal Still wonder who'll be left out of the squad for the game though: Distin, Jagielka, Heitinga or Amorebieta, as we don't need 2 centre backs on our bench.
