Romey 1878
You would think he'd only commit what is likely to be the rest of his career if he knew the manager was likely to be signing a contract soon himself...
Louis
Dunno, it's Jags, he signs one every other year. He signed for us in July 2007 (expired 2012) He agreed extension in May 2009 (expired 2014) He agreed another extension in March 2011 (expires 2015) Now agrees one in January 2013 (expires 2017)
Romey 1878
His bank account must be looking pretty good with all these wage rises he'll have no doubt received. Edited January 3, 2013 by Romey 1878

Be nice to think so but does he know what the manager is doing?
Romey 1878
Be nice to think so but does he know what the manager is doing? Well the manager would have had a say in him getting a new contract I'd have thought, so that would tell Jags the manager sees him in his plans for the next however many years. Avinalaff
At least we'll get more for him now when we flog him to City.
Avinalaff
I wonder also if it's an indication that Lescott has also signed?
rubecula
I wonder also if it's an indication that Lescott has also signed? Now there is a thought. Makes me wonder about that now damnit I was just switching off too.
Lowensda
Is anyone a little surprised at how often we do give our players contracts? No wonder our wage bill keeps drastically increasing. Neville's had a fair few. Coleman hasn't been here that long and he got another one. Howard's signed one recently and i'm sure he'd recently signed an extension? Neville got an additional two years (I think) and a pay bump....we should take a leaf out of Arsenals book and stop giving over 32's a pay bump (unless they're incredibly good). rubecula
..we should take a leaf out of Arsenals book and stop giving over 32's a pay bump (unless they're incredibly good). Or we are very desperate.
Lowensda
Or we are very desperate. Probably more accurate.
Avinalaff
We won't sign Lescott. Can't see it. He was watching the Chelsea game last night, as he tweeted "great goal" to SWPhillips, so if he was coming here, you would think he would have been watching us instead. Then he could have tweeted "great goal" to Baines. Lowensda

Other clubs come circling if you don't. Last time round came just before the increased revenue kicked in, looks as if we're doing the same again. Just hope it's not inline with the 70% and gives us a chance of not being in the red.
