Phil McNulty article on Moyes

Moyes has been doing a column in France Football this week.

He says he wants to manage in Germany and also that he'd like to go to South America to see how they develop young players but he can't do it because he has a job with Everton.

Is it too late to get Moyes a one way ticket to Beunos Aires before the holidays ?

In all seriousness, we're all aware of the feats that Moyes has achieved here in his ten years and it's merely going over old ground, but as another year comes to an end, and we close in on Moyes 11th anniversary as manager, it's worth giving the Scot another piece of recognition. Yes it hasn't been all one way traffic, and the cup tournaments have been largely disappointing, but he has another attempt next year to finally bring a trophy to this club for the first time in what will be 18 long years. It's achievable too, but all depends on the draws, and how the team performs for each round, and that most vital ingredient, which is a bit of luck along the way.

But we have the capabilities to do it, as one of the favorites for the competition demonstrates.

Who knows where it would have ended if Smith has continued after 2002. You can't say for sure a relegation, despite the sometimes poor performances, but Moyes came in, was a fresh young manager at the time, and made the club recognizable again and able to obtain impressive league finishes, not seen since Royle one time, or even to the end of the 1980s for the most part. Don't know how long Moyes will remain in charge, don't know if we will ever win anything under his tenure, but he has done well for the most part, despite the end all and be all some will say, the inability to deliver anything actually won. But we can only wait and see what occurs in the future.
