Dalziel Kane
You'd be too young to remember him Paul. Will only say, remember when he first arrived around 1991 and we actually had a half decent side at the time under Colin Harvey, I was excited to see what he could bring after doing well for previous clubs, but apart from early promise, it all fizzled out and in the end, simply became another name with the club, that disappointed after early expectations. I don't recall any standout games when he was involved, but maybe at another time.

MikeO
2005 - a 1 - 0 win at Bolton in the league Remember that game really well. Was on a camping holiday and had the commentary on the car radio....cycled in a circle round the car for the last forty minutes after Marcus Bent gave us an undeserved lead. Bolton absolutely battered us for the rest of the game but we somehow held on. Was the only three points we got from the first eight games that season (and the only goal we scored)...we were absolute shit.
Cake
August 21 1976 - a 4 - 0 win at Queens Park Rangers in the league, who had been first division runners-up only a few weeks earlier Big Bob Latchford liked playing against QPR. away - he got two goals in the game, above, and 4 of the 5 in a 5-1 victory there the following year (I was at both and QPR was not a pleasant place to go, then. Gangs of black lads, nothing to do with QPR I think, from the estate(s) running you round before and after the game, pissed off because you were in their neck of the woods. Horrible, but had to be done)
Dalziel Kane
No new stats for today (Thursday). That can arrive later, but here at least are two of the games featured from the above that may be of interest. Selected the Manchester United game from the 12th August 1996 and Queens Park Rangers from 12 August 1976. Got to say with the former, we had a very good side at the time and could easily have won that night, but ended up in a relegation fight and with loses to York City and Bradford in the cup games later that season and the manager eventually losing his job. Whoever came up with the expression soccer is a strange game must have been on to something. I apologize for the quality of the second highlights. Dalziel Kane
96 / 97 was a good season for Ferguson, scored a great goal against liverpool in the derby game in March or April, and also plenty of other worthwhile contributions. Had spent his time in Barlinnie for the John McStay assault and was no longer playing at international level (would have been great at Euro 96, France 98 and even Holland / Belgium 2000) and at the time, was perhaps at the pinnacle of his playing abilities, before his soon clandestine sale to Newcastle United. But the win over Manchester United in 2004 / 05 was Fergusons greatest hour against them I believe, he always did do well against that opposition.
