MikeO
Not watching it but (according to the BBC stats) Sunderland have had fifteen shots to Liverpool's five as well as the majority of possession but are two down .

Sibdane
I really want Sunderland to come back. Altidore is in my fantasy team, and I need him to get me a goal. Plus, we can leapfrog Liverpool this week and at least finish third with a win at Newcastle.
Blue 250
Sunderland were the better team to be honest, liverpools first goal was handball.Sunderland deserved at leat a point, pretty tough when your at the bottom.
Dalziel Kane
Needless to say I didn't listen to this game in question, and won't be watching highlights (I would rather look directly into the sun) but fuck Liverpool really. Hope it was as people describe, and they didn't play well and were second best throughout. Still managed a win somehow apparently but no sense in getting upset, so will just expect them to finish with nothing again by end of season. Mike21
Sturridge knew it hit his arm and still ran away celebrating. Later in the game a Sunderland player handballed and confessed to the ref, bringing the ball back when his team was 2-1 down. Really shows the different mentality between the two sides. KingsRoadBlue
I don't think Sunderland were the better team, It was a classic top-bottom match with Sunderland playing well but in the end Liverpool took what they had. Deffo a resurrection for Sunderland as they didn't play as a rock-bottom team. Against a weaker opponent I think they'll bounce back. Sturridge acted a real cunt I agree. Cornish Steve
Deffo a resurrection for Sunderland as they didn't play as a rock-bottom team. Cornish Steve
Okay so the game after that No. I think ManU fit the bill quite nicely for a Sunderland bounce-back. Matt

Steve_E
Ajax and Milan still 0-0. Milan are incredibly bad. About a half hour in Ajax had 29% possession. Just now (38th minute) Milan still haven't had a shot. Ajax have had 5, 3 on target.

Matt
Barcelona had 82% possession at Celtic . Incredible. yet only scored 1 after Celtic went down to 10 men = BORING!
Steve_E
Barcelona had 82% possession at Celtic . Incredible. They had even more possession when Celtic beat them last season: Matt
Dalziel Kane
Wasn't even aware of last nights result until doing research just now. Sorry that the Glasgow side couldn't do better, and no fan of Barcelona so not the best of results. And who was it who said Celtic weren't in european participation at this time ? Nevermind. I do hope they can recover from yesterdays setback and continue to challenge in their respective group. They've got a fine european pedigree so hope to see them back in the latter stages again this time if possible.

MikeO
Possession stats mean little. Completely agree....the only stat that really matters is how many goals you score. Just found it mildly interesting, though last year's that Steve posted is even more strange.

Cornish Steve
ManU have never lost to a Ukranian team, and Shakhtar have never lost to an English team. 1-1 would continue that record.
Cornish Steve
It seems like ManU tried to sit on their lead rather than push for a second - and they've not made use of their bench.
