Dalziel Kane
Link seems inoperative Smith in retrospect shouldn't have had any close calls so long as he was Everton manager, in way that he should never been given the job in the first place, I did have high hopes at the time after Kendall left again and we got him in from Rangers but the man never produced anything and it was long faces all the way through from what I can remember, he made one or two interesting signings such as Collins and Gascgoine but it's one part of Toffee history where one doesn't look back in a favorable light 4-4-2 magazine did an article about twelve years ago where Smith was still manager and there was like six pages devoted to us and all manner of issues where brought to the fore including ground moves, ownerships, debt issues, club valuations, and of course the Administration side of things and for anyone who read it it was an interesting read, but above all else, Smith given the job was a lame idea back at the time, although big things were expected, but playing Disneyland soccer and management in the SPL is chalk and cheese from the realities of the english premier league and so it proved
