Matt
another opportunity for embarrassment! Yey!
Romey 1878
Can't Powell manage the men's team? She'd probably do a better job than Pearce.
iggy
That's just about a given Matt, but as the Olympic mens teams are under 23 (I think) there may be some interest for Evertonians with Berkley/Rodwell etc
Louis
It was always going to be Pearce. I posted that last year, I'm sure!
iggy
Can't Powell manage the men's team? She'd probably do a better job than Pearce. I may be in a minority here but I think he's done a fairly decent job with the U21's.
Louis
Incidentally, there is a promotional picture of Gareth Bale in a Team GB "supporter's shirt" doing the rounds.

iggy
In fairness none of the British (football) teams exactly shine in tournament football but hopefully he will a fit set of players to pick from and I can see them reaching the semis with a decent draw. Louis
The Olympics football is a huge deal outside of Britain, only second to World Cup and the continental cups.

Lowensda
Pearce only got it based on his involvement with 70% of the players who are going to represent GB next year, i would have thought. If you coach these kids for a few years (ENgland U21's) then it makes sense. I still think they'll fall on their arse. Do we have an idea of who could be picked from the four countries? For us, I think ENglish involement is obvious but who from the other nations could be involved?
Lowensda
Wales - Ramsey (Arsenal) Bale (Tottenham) Chris Gunter (Forrest) Sam Vokes (Wolves) Scotland - Danny Wilson (Liverpool) Barry Bannan (Villa) Northern Ireland - Ryan McGivern (Man City) Corry Evans (Hull)

There's a picture of Bale modelling it. It's blue.
MikeO
Talk of Beckham and Giggs being two of the over-age players . Madness. I'd like them to be good club pros who've never played internationally like (for example) Ossie. Sure there are similar players at other club who deserve the recognition more than the same old faces.
