marcopaulo
he just needs some more game time and to defend a bit more to get him more defensively aware then i'd have him at rb..would be nice to have attacking fullbacks and have wingers who could do the dribbling

marcus jones
Personally, I'd have Gueye and Drenthe as our wingers. Then I'd be excited. No offence to Coleman, but apart from directness he's a poor winger. Wahey!

Hope Barkley gets a start today and Drenthe id also give Vellios a go aswell, as said we have quite an attacking line up when everyones fit. Steve_E
And Coleman was again poor today. I've said it before too: Coleman doesn't have the skill level needed to be a PL-winger. I think I'd settle for Drenthe and Barkley on the wing.

SSSSHHHOOOTTT!

He deserves a goal, think he might have to wait for his testimonial and do a Carragher though. I really hope, if we're winning an get a pen in the last minute of a game, he gets to have a chance. Imagine the celebration. When we had the run of 6/7 wins mostly 1-0s he was playing great, getting forward and whipping crosses in. When his crossing is on form so are the results, jus a pity we see more of the hammer-toe ones or even worse Nevilles floaty ones

Bill
I'm bemused with this thread, it was supposed to be about Barkley but its gone completely off track, and even so, why are we still talking about Barclay in the rumours section. ??? Steve_E
Barkley isn't a winger, nowhere near. Gueye and Drenthe hopefully. Barkley has done fine on the wing so far. He can take players on, put a cross in and take a shot when he cuts inside. Of course, he'll be even better in the middle because of his great range of passing, but so will Gueye (as a second striker playing off a target man in Gueye's case). He's done fine, yes, but he's not a wide man and never will be. He's just another who can do a job there, but he provides no width (which is what we need), no pace out wide (something else we need) and he'll constantly leave the full-back exposed because he simply won't be out wide to help out. He's obviouly being played out there so he can adapt to the speed of the league and makes his mistakes where they (hopefully) won't be punished as badly as they would be if he was playing in the centre of the park. But if Moyes sees Barkley as a wide man long term then I'd be very surprised.

Matt
i was a bit surprised he didnt get a run out yesterday, that game was begging for a hero and he couldve provided the spark to kill it off earlier.

Romey 1878
I think the window is closed now isnt it. Doesn't matter does it? If a player is a linked with a move outside of the window then it should be discussed.

StevO
Another lazy journo. "Moyes is trying to keep Barkley under wraps, using him sparingly and even leaving him on the bench at the weekend although his team are struggling." Unbeaten since the first game of the season. Struggling. Probably no truth in this what so ever.
Louis
Similar to Rooney in some ways, the press were relentless linking him away until he'd gone.
Avinalaff
Gueye is a striker isn't he? Coleman is there to fill a gap. The problem is that he isn't getting defensive experience playing on the wing, so not sure what Moyes has in mind for him.
