SimonButtle
Can't see any truth in it what so ever but i know EW would get excited if he got wind of an Anil Ambani takeover. Anyway dude, where have you got this from? ive read it on a few blogs and places like that, over the last few days, thats why i doubt how much truth there is in it
Lowensda
Tell you what though, if there was any truth, that'll be incredible. I remember he attended one game a few years ago and the interest was there, but nothing materialised and then he was looking at Newcastle i think? He's worth like £8 billion or something? His Older brothers worth more, so our best best scenario would be a Ambani family take over...now that would be amazing!
adamsmith69
YAWN, that is all.
BrotherEstapol
Ambani was in talks with Everton officials over a deal to takeover the club. Before this he was also on the brink of buying Newcastle United.[16][17] He is now believed to be keen to re-kindle his interest in Everton as Chairman Bill Kenwright has admitted he will now actively seek to sell his shares due to the collapse of the clubs Destination Kirkby stadium project. From his wiki page. The 2nd sentence sounds like BS speculation...who knows how long it's been up on the Wiki for though. Stupid wikis. Lowensda
Stolen from NSNO, credit to nomorechang for this find - http://www.capital.ro/detalii-articole/stiri/cine-este-arabul-din-spatele-fuziunii-alpha-bank-si-eurobank-152058.html "The crisis, many countries have preferred to keep their money instead of investing them abroad. Very briefly, the investments appear to be targeted with Qatar predilection towards two main areas: football and banks. In 1996 the liberal media and is the main supporter of Al-Jazeera TV station. Regarding foreign investment, has gathered an impressive collection Emir, the actions are in place leading banks and football clubs. Al Thani has club Malaga in Spain, 70% stake in FC Paris Saint-Germanine and even last year negotiated the takeover of Manchester United Glazer family, oferint 1.5 billion pounds. Also, the British press could write that and shareholder of Everton. As banks have Thani Emir of shares in Barclays Bank in Britain, the Credit Suisse (which has a representative on the Board of Directors) and runs several Islamic investment banks. All investments are made through entities directly or indirectly, the Qatar Investment Fund, which belongs to state that Al Thani family. Emir had earlier eye on Alpha Bank, paying 296 million dollars in 2008 to 4% of shares bank. Emir strategy to take advantage of the crisis, others speculating problems paying off. Yesterday hit: he paid $ 500 million for 17% of the shares of banks in addition to Alpha, Eurobank also contains assets. Bad translation but probably the only one nearest to its actual meaning.
