JimmytheJimster
Looks so much better centrally, put pace on the wings and a quick forward passer in midfield, and he'll be great. London Blue

Yep that's the place for him, in the middle where he can influence things and run ahead of the striker. Rooney's general play has been crap for the last month or so, passes going astray, poor tackles and positioning. Yes he has scored goals, but he has also cost us goals at both ends. Time to drop him for a while, and with us looking so much better playing two attacking wingers and Siggy in the middle, maybe Rooney will be a fringe player. Newty82
He has to be central, doesn't he? This could turn out to be one of the most frustrating things this season, and there is plenty to choose from, if he doesn't get to play centrally for a good run of games. That's where he belongs. We have wingers to play either side, we have the central midfield blend to play behind. And, hopefully, we have the striker to stay up top. Please can we start playing players where they play at their best!!! Romey 1878
Bailey
I thought he was largely anonymous centrally bar the goal.

Romey 1878
For the love of fucking god, stop playing him on the left. He helps out defensively does he? Does he like fuck. Martina got fucked because he was playing the invisible man. And he certainly offers absolutely fuck all going forward from there. If you can’t find a central role for the fella then don’t play him at all. I don’t give a shit how much he cost because he’s giving us absolutely nothing from out there. Peter H
He is now third in the pl for assists. Only De Bruyne and Eriksen ahead of him now. (but by quite a few)

He has 16 since the start of the LAST season according to optastats here - http://www.skysports.com/football/everton-vs-leicester/373341 I read that wrong apparently. Still good tho "Since the start of last season, only Kevin De Bruyne (29) and Christian Eriksen (21) have more assists in the Premier League than Gylfi Sigurdsson (16)." Sibdane
Just when he was starting to come into his own. Luckily Baines is back, because that left side is severely lacking.

Bolasie just played there at the weekend. Walcott could play there. Vlasic if the manager ever remembers he exists.

I'm not sure why you feared it was that bad when he completed the rest of the game and looked fine. If it was a Bolasie-type injury there's no way that'd have been happening.
