Hafnia
http://www.football365.com/everton/9061484/Premier-League-Everton-defender-Sylvain-Distin-expects-to-sign-a-new-deal I'd give him a 2 year deal, shows no signs of slowing up - absolute freak of nature. In two years Stones will be a regular. markjazzbassist and Quinn31
Toffee_in_LA
Agreed haf, the man is an absolute tank. It's always been shocking to me that he never received a call up by France's int'l squad.
Quinn31
Agreed haf, the man is an absolute tank. It's always been shocking to me that he never received a call up by France's int'l squad. France doesn't believe in having pacey, strong, freaks like Distin. They'd rather have some softy who goes down at first contact, even at centerback. markjazzbassist and Toffee_in_LA
markjazzbassist
good news, i hope we do sign him to a new deal. he's still world class at his age. i also believe stones will benefit from learning the craft from jags and distin. thoward18
Distin is truly a bizarre but pleasant case. He's 35 so he should be slowing down. Instead, it seems like he's caught a second wind. He's playing some of the best football of his career right now. nobody is going to mistake him for Thiago Silva or Vincent Kompany but Distin has been rock solid. Such a nice surprise. If he was even 5 years younger I'm sure that the biggest sides in the world would come in for him - he's been brilliant for us. It was great to see him passing the ball out today, really seeming to revel in the way of playing, looking to better himself even at that the ripe old age of 35 (just bitter because he's younger than me). Guest Nikica
Very good player. I've always thought Distin was underrated and is good enough to play CL football. Matt

Sibdane
Normally, I'd be all about getting the older players out and the new in, but Distin has been so vital for us that I want him staying as long as his performance level stays up. He's such a fantastic player!

gethinO
He is a freak of a human being. His strength, pace and fitness is up there with any prem player and he's 36 next week!! Think he's much more consistent now than he was 10 years ago and he would probably say that he's playing the best football of his career during the last few seasons. BEAST! Bailey
He is currently having his best season for us as well IMO. He seems to be a really top bloke as well.

verreauxi
Touch for touch, I always thought Distin was pretty consistent and having wisdom in the back is always good.
Guest Nikica
He is a good player - and I shouldn't have attacked him in the other thread for his views on Moyes and Martinez. I still think he should give more credit to the new boss, though.

Romey 1878
but we are missing Distin and Jags partnership. Most definitely. I mean, we've been leaking goals since they've been out. We must've conceded about 3 since the partnership has been missing. Shocking! I do like Stones in defense but we are missing Distin and Jags partnership. We do need to move on from this ageing partnership soon. They cant keep performing at this level especially at his age. He does continues to prove me wrong which is great but I think we need to get his replacement ready. Stones has a great player to learn from here and I hope he makes the most of Distins experience.
