MikeO
I heard this morning that 17 officials voted against Blatter. Get them on board! There were seventeen abstentions as well. Problem is that many will have voted for Blatter through self interest....Australia being one example. You'd think they'd want change given they were (potentially) screwed out of the 2022 WC....but if for some reason Qatar have it taken away from them they need to be onside with Blatter to be in a with a chance of stepping in. All this went against what Oz football fans apparently wanted (from Australian FourFourTwo)... "...on the eve of the vote, fans in Australia had delivered the FFA damning stats from an online poll conducted by Football Supporters of Australia showing 94 percent wanted the vote stopped. If the vote did go ahead, more than half didn't want Australia to take part, and another 43 percent wanted the FFA to abstain." The last thing we want to end up with is a different governing body and multiple world champions like boxing & darts though.

Louis
Last week, the Sunday Times and Daily Mailreported that FIFA had put a block on Jack Warner's FIFA pension worth £30k a year until it was discovered what had happened to aid money that was given to Warner to pass on to the Haitian FA. Haitian football officials have said that they received $60k (US dollars) although FIFA and Korean Football Association had given $250k and $500k respectively. Jack Warner says it's a conspiracy against him. Earlier this week, he threatened to sue twitter and anyone who tweeted about the story. Now Warner has threatened to sue the Trinidad Express newspaper. http://latino.foxnew...trinidad-paper/

Matt
No doubt there'll be nothing against Teflon Blatter and he'll still get re-elected. Fifa: Sepp Blatter 'not involved at all' Associated Press sends this round-up of what has happened so far in Zurich: Six soccer officials were arrested and detained by Swiss police on Wednesday pending extradition at the request of US authorities after a raid at a luxury hotel in Zurich. The officials are in Switzerland for the Fifa congress and presidential election, where Sepp Blatter is widely expected to win a fifth term at the helm of the governing body of world soccer. Blatter was not among the men arrested, Fifa spokesman Walter de Gregorio told the Associated Press. “He is not involved at all,” De Gregorio said. Blatter is scheduled to attend a meeting of the Confederation of African Football at 10.30am local time in a different downtown Zurich hotel. Sorry, but as the head of the organisation that is now being accused of corruption to the tune of $100million it's not even feasible that he wouldn't have been involved in any of it. Even if he wasn't he still shouldn't be getting re-elected because he's presided over the time period when it's happened. The man is fucking untouchable. It's about time Steve, they've been getting away with it for years but been quietly going about it, it's still wholly wrong but to flaunt it like they have they obviously think they're above the law and untouchable. I'm absolutely thrilled they're getting what's been coming.

But Blatter still seemingly untouchable; it's happened on his watch so at the very least he should stand down, even if he knew nothing about it (very long shot). Instead he's going to be re-elected. It's mind boggling. Matt
