MikeO
Sounds very tongue in cheek to me. “I worked with him at Preston. We played in the same team and I made him look good." ....shows where his head's at in that interview.
marcopaulo
he can beat the first man from a corner so i'd have him
pete0
beckham would walk in to our side, he should still be 1st choice on the england startin 11. doubt it will happen thou.
c1982
Would love him, we won't be the only ones though!!!
Kev627
If DB came along would Everton continue to play as a team or would every ball be hoofed in to the general direction of him regardless of where other players were? I don't doubt the skill of the current team I'd just be fearful they might fall into the 'Beckham is the best' pit that the media seems to believe constantly! marcopaulo
might generate some money? the man is a walking brand...maybe worth it just for financial reasons
Hafnia
I really hope this happens, maybe if it comes off then we can negotiate a good deal with a shirt sponsor, imagine the impact in Asia......
GoodisonRoad
Could be another business venture for the 'walking brand' he has conquered Europe and the States, so maybe with our deal with Chang he can go on to conquor Asia? Just a thought. On the pitch, i cant really see him doing much to be honest.
BrotherEstapol
After watching LA galaxy lose to the newcastle jets(mid table australian team) this evening, I'm not so sure...Donovan however was great, and think he'd be a much better target. On a side note, I heard he got paid $2m Australian to play tonight... EDIT: just read the article and it looks very tounge in cheek...will intersting to see if it pops on on the official site at all. scouse
How could we afford his wages? wouldnt mind a double swoop for him and Landon in Jan would be two great additions.

Crikey imagine that! Two proven wingers one of which is also a proven striker...too good to be true so it won't happen.
Ian C
One the greatest crosser of the ball for the last decade and the biggest brand in football history, the other a national hero and greatest ever player of one of the world's largest and richest countries with the fastest growing football market in the world. Far far too good to be true.

Romey 1878
why so horrified? I'm horrified at the prospect of us being interested in a player who is approaching 40. We play slow enough as it is, this would just take the piss. We need young, hungry players, preferably with a bit of pace. Not a player who isn't far off pension age. Bailey
Right, so I'm the only one horrified by this then? Ok then. Phew! Im not the only one... He is a good passer which is good but I dont really know what else he will bring to the team. We might get a bit in commercial terms but surely his wages will be astronomical. Hasnt he only just come back from injury as well? Id much prefer Donovan.
Romey 1878
Thankfully the man himself has just said it's a no from him in an interview for SSN. Big sigh of relief here.

MikeO
I just meant that would his apparent lack of first team opportunities, reduced even more if Beckham goes, have any bearing on whether he'd go now or at the end of the season. As if, pienaar for free or the potential 2m says an 8-10m profit for any club. How is he a profit for them? Are you suggesting that they buy him, give him a contract and then sell him on? I see no £8/10m profit any other way . Am I missing something?
