markjazzbassist
It was a joke Mark. Leeds/Leads to plug the telly in? Yes I got it, it he was also serious as John played for Leeds and supports them as well.

johnh
Just looking at the league tables. When I watched Everton in the late 1940's, exactly half (10 clubs) of the current Premiership were not in the old Division 1. Of clubs who were, Grimsby, Blackpool, Portsmouth, are now in Division 2. Charlton Ath in division 1. Most others, like Wolves, Blackburn, Aston Villa are in the Championship. How times change, Bournemouth were always in Division 3 South! MikeO
Exeter Chiefs set a new premiership record, seven consecutive bonus point wins (minimum four plus tries per game). Big chance to win the league with one game to go! Brilliant. Make that eight.

Popular Post johnh
According to Telegraph Sport today, extracts from a book 'Football Leaks: The Dirty Business of Football' by two German journalists claims that Pogba's agent is in line for a 23million pound slice of the transfer fee and five installments totalling 16.39million pounds over the course of the players contract. It really is about time FIFA sorted the issue of agents. Clubs should be banned from making payments to agents. If an agent represents a player, or players, they should provide the agents income. Doesn't go far enough I don't think. If (for example) a player dives and gets a winning penalty from it then he should not only be banned but his team should have to play their next game with ten men. As it stands a player, particularly one from a "big" club with a deep squad, is still likely to take one for the team.

MikeO
Just bumped into the Sheffield Ladies football team in Crawley high street (they're playing Brighton tomorrow). Fit looking lasses in both the traditional and modern sense of the word, my Everton jumper caused some comment ?. rubecula

aaron
For two years so he gets out of paying the £2m clause Im sure if a team was in danger of going down they would pay that happily for him, providing they can get him to do it.

johnh
Pretty ordinary cup-final. I switched off as soon as the final whistle went, just in case Terry did an open-top bus ride around the pitch. rubecula
MikeO
Mike, I'm guessing you're a happy bastard right now after Exeter's win? I was/am; amazing game. My specialist nurse from a few years back (who I'm secretly in love with ) is a season ticket holder and goes home and away, the thought of her celebrating at Twickenham made me happy also . Seventeen games unbeaten after a dodgy start to the season from a team that were a bit like Bournemouth football-wise seven years ago, great story. c1982
...and Mendy. They'll spend insane amounts this summer - probably helps that they've just taken more than £600k a week off their wage bill and could be closer to £1m if Toure leaves. Obviously the incoming players will be on silly amounts but they are upgrades on the aging players they've got rid of - City could be a frightening prospect next season. Best way to do it - get your main targets in early and then you can relax for the rest of the window, with no panic, and if any interesting moves become possible you can have a go without being desperate.
